1. A base station comprising:

  • a) one or more communication interfaces;

    b) one or more processors; and

    c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said base station to;

    i) transmit to a wireless device at least one control message comprising;

    (1) configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups, said plurality of cell groups comprising a primary cell group and a secondary cell group; and

    (2) a time-alignment-timer (TAT) value for each of said plurality of cell groups;

    ii) transmit to said wireless device at least one timing-advance command (TAC) for said secondary cell group, and start or restart a TAT for said secondary cell group every time said base station transmits a TAC in said at least one TAC, each of said at least one TAC including a timing-advance value (TAV) to be employed by said wireless device to update a first TAV;

    iii) transmit, to said wireless device and after said TAT expires, a second TAC with a TAV of zero for said secondary cell group and re-start said TAT; and
