Abstract

A device includes a biosensor, a sensing circuit electrically connected to the biosensor, a quantizer electrically connected to the sensing circuit, a digital filter electrically connected to the quantizer, a selective window electrically connected to the digital filter, and a decision unit electrically connected to the selective window.

Claims

1. A device comprising:

a biosensor;

a sensing circuit electrically connected to the biosensor;

a quantizer electrically connected to the sensing circuit;

a digital filter electrically connected to the quantizer;

a selective window electrically connected to the digital filter; and

a decision unit electrically connected to the selective window.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the biosensor is an ion-sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET).

3. The device of claim 1, wherein the digital filter includes a moving average filter.

4. The device of claim 1, wherein the digital filter includes at least one of a bandpass filter, a lowpass filter, or a highpass filter.

5. The device of claim 4, wherein order of the digital filter is tunable.

6. The device of claim 4, wherein type of the digital filter is selectable.

7. A device comprising:

a biosensor;

a sensing circuit electrically connected to the biosensor;

a meter electrically connected to the sensing circuit;

a digital filter electrically connected to the meter;

a selective window electrically connected to the digital filter;

a feedback path electrically connected to at least one of the meter, the digital filter, or the selective window; and

a tuning circuit electrically connected to the feedback path and at least one of the biosensor or the sensing circuit.

8. The device of claim 7, wherein the tuning circuit is electrically connected to a back gate voltage supply electrically connected to a back gate of the biosensor.

9. The device of claim 7, wherein the tuning circuit is electrically connected to a current supply electrically connected to an amplifier of the sensing circuit.

10. The device of claim 7, further comprising a decision unit electrically connected to the selective window.

11. The device of claim 7, wherein a start time and an end time of the selective window are selectable.

12. The device of claim 7, wherein the digital filter has selectable type and tunable order.

13. A method comprising:

(a) inputting biological material to a biosensor;

(b) sensing a response of the biosensor to the biological material by a sensing circuit;

(c) converting the response to a digital signal;

(d) filtering the digital signal by a digital filter to generate a filtered signal; and

(e) selecting bits of the filtered signal according to a start time to generate a selected signal.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

(f) determining a biological condition according to analysis of the selected signal; and

(g) outputting an indication of the biological condition.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

(h) feeding back the selected signal to a tuning circuit.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

(i) tuning biasing conditions of the biosensor according to the selected signal.

17. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

(j) tuning biasing conditions of the sensing circuit according to the selected signal.

18. The method of claim 13, further comprising feeding back the filtered signal to a tuning circuit.

19. The method of claim 18, further comprising tuning biasing conditions of at least the biosensor or the sensing circuit according to the filtered signal.

20. The method of claim 13, wherein (d) includes selecting at least one of order or type of the digital filter.
