Abstract

A system for alerting a person when a child has been left unattended comprising at least one sensor pad configured to send a first signal to a transmitter which in turn simultaneously relays the first signal to a plurality of receiver modules, wherein said plurality of receiver modules are configured to notify a person that a child has been left unattended if communication between the sensor pad and at least one of the plurality of receiver modules ceases. In addition, a method is provided for alerting a person when a child has been left unattended comprising the steps of sending a first signal, via a sensor pad, to a transmitter; simultaneously relaying the first signal to a plurality of receiver modules; and notifying a person that a child has been left unattended if communication between the sensor pad and at least one of the plurality of receiver modules ceases.

Claims

1. A system for alerting a person that a child has been left unattended comprising:

at least one sensor pad configured to send a first signal to a transmitter which in turn simultaneously relays the first signal to a plurality of receiver modules, wherein said plurality of receiver modules are configured to notify a person that a child has been left unattended if communication between the sensor pad and at least one of the plurality of receiver modules ceases.

2. The system of claim 1 coupled to a car seat.

3. The system of claim 1 further comprising a temperature sensor and a buzzer alarm.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a key chain, said key chain comprising a buzzer alarm, a vibration motor, and a light emitting diode.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a remote alarm, said remote alarm comprising a buzzer alarm and a pre-recorded voice message.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a smart phone.

7. The system of claim 4 wherein the first signal independently activates the buzzer alarm, the vibration motor, and the light emitting diode.

8. The system of claim 5 further comprising at least one driver sensor configured to send a second signal to the remote alarm when the presence of a person is detected and configured to cease sending the second signal to the remote alarm when the presence of a person is not detected.

9. The system of claim 8 wherein the first signal activates the buzzer alarm and the pre-recorded voice message within a pre-determined time-span after the second signal ceases to be received.

10. The system of claim 6 wherein the smart phone further comprises an application that sends an alert message via e-mail and text message.

11. A method for alerting a person that a child has been left unattended comprising the steps of_:

a) sending a first signal, via a sensor pad, to a transmitter;

b) simultaneously relaying the first signal to a plurality of receiver modules; and

c) notifying a person that a child has been left unattended if communication between the sensor pad and at least one of the plurality of receiver modules ceases.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a key chain, said key chain comprising a buzzer alarm, a vibration motor, and a light emitting diode.

13. The method of claim 11 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a remote alarm, said remote alarm comprising a buzzer alarm and a pre-recorded voice message.

14. The method of claim 11 wherein one of the plurality of receiver modules is a smart phone.

15. The method of claim 12 wherein the first signal independently activates the buzzer alarm, the vibration motor and the light emitting diode.

16. The method of claim 13 further comprising at least one driver sensor configured to send a second signal to the remote alarm when the presence of a person is detected and configured to cease sending the second signal to the remote alarm when the presence of a person is not detected.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the first signal activates the buzzer alarm and the pre-recorded voice message within a pre-determined time-span after the second signal ceases to be received.

18. The method of claim 14 wherein the smart phone further comprises an application that sends an alert message via e-mail and text message.
