1. A method comprising:

  • obtaining, by one or more processors, one or more first fluid delivery parameters that at least partially define delivery of a first fluid within a downstream portion of a fluid path of a fluid delivery system, wherein a medical pump and a catheter of the fluid delivery system define at least a portion of the fluid path;

    obtaining, by the one or more processors, one or more second fluid delivery parameters that at least partially define delivery of a second fluid within an upstream portion of the fluid path upstream from the first fluid, wherein the second fluid comprises a therapeutic agent;

    determining, by the one or more processors and based on the one or more first fluid delivery parameters and the one or more second fluid delivery parameters, one or more third fluid delivery parameters that at least partially define delivery of a third fluid located between the first fluid and the second fluid in the fluid path, wherein the third fluid comprises a mixture of the first fluid and the second fluid, and wherein at least some of the one or more third fluid delivery parameters are different than the one or more first and second fluid delivery parameters; and

    outputting, by the one or more processors, the one or more third fluid delivery parameters for controlling the medical pump to deliver the third fluid to a patient.
