1. A cruise control system comprising:
- (A) a controller having a throttle output, a mode select input, a GPS sensor input, a wheel speed input, a display output, a brake control output, and a transmission control output, the controller including a separate hill angle sensor input; and
(B) a hill angle sensor providing an angle signal on an output coupled to the hill angle sensor input, the angle signal providing fast acting, vehicle pitch data oriented to the longitudinal axis of a vehicle.

Abstract
A cruise control includes an input (225) for speed-related data, a hill angle sensor (230), and a cruise controller (210) having a throttling control output (215) and control conditions responsive to both the speed-related data and to the hill angle sensor (230) to determine whether to increase or decrease the throttling control output or leave the throttling control output unchanged. Other cruise control apparatus and processes and automotive vehicles are disclosed.
