Abstract

The disclosure relates to an electric tool, particularly a hand-held power tool, comprising a control unit which has control software with control parameters, and is provided for the purpose of controlling a drive unit. According to the disclosure, said electric tool comprises an interface unit that is provided to fundamentally update and/or modify the control software and/or the control parameters.

Claims

1. An electric tool comprising:

a control unit having control software, the control software having control parameters and being configured to control a drive unit; and

an interface unit configured to at least one of update and modify at least one of the control software and the control parameters.

2. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the interface unit is configured to connect the control unit to an external programming unit.

3. The electric tool as claimed in claim 2, wherein the interface unit is configured to produce a wireless connection to the external programming unit.

4. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

at least one security device configured to authorize a use of the interface unit.

5. The electric tool as claimed in claim 4, wherein the at least one security device is configured to authorize in a graded manner.

6. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to at least one of process and implement received user-defined regulating variables.

7. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to at least one of process and implement received user-defined data regarding a specific application of the electric tool.

8. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to at least one of process and implement received user-defined data regarding an environmental condition.

9. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to at least one of process and implement received at least one of user-defined and user-specific data regarding a tool behavior.

10. The electric tool as claimed in claim 1, wherein the control unit is configured to at least one of process and implement received data relating to at least one of an additional functionality and to a specific application.

17. A system having an electric tool as claimed in claim 1 and an external programming unit as claimed in claim 15.

11. A method for at least one of updating and modifying at least one of control software and control parameters of a control unit of an electric tool, the electric tool comprising (i) the control unit, the control unit having the control software, the control software having the control parameters and being configured to control a drive unit, and (ii) an interface unit configured to at least one of update and modify at least one of the control software and the control parameters, the method comprising:

at least one of updating and modifying the at least one of the control software and the control parameters of the control unit.

12. The method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:

transmitting at least one of user-defined data that is input into an external programming unit, user-specific data that is input into the external programming unit, and regulating variables for the control unit of the electric tool one of directly and indirectly to the control unit of the electric tool.

13. The method as claimed in claim 12, further comprising:

processing, with the external programming unit, at least one of the user-defined and the user-specific data for the control unit of the electric tool into regulating variables for the control unit of the electric tool.

14. The method as claimed in claim 11, further comprising:

transmitting data that is downloaded to an external programming unit one of directly and indirectly to the control unit of the electric tool, the data relating to at least one of an additional functionality and a specific application for the control unit of the electric tool.

15. An external programming unit comprising:

a unit configured to at least one of update and modify at least one of a control software and control parameters of a control unit of an electric tool, the electric tool comprising (i) the control unit, the control unit having the control software, the control software having the control parameters and being configured to control a drive unit, and (ii) an interface unit configured to enable at least one of updating and modifying of at least one of the control software and the control parameters.

16. The external programming unit as claimed in claim 15, wherein the unit is a portable data processing system.
