SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MODIFYING RESOURCES TO MANAGE LOSS EVENTS
First Claim
1. A computer-implemented method of modifying resources to manage loss events, the method comprising:
- receiving loss event data related to a loss event, the loss event data (i) recorded by at least one sensor associated with at least one property and (ii) received during occurrence of the loss event;
examining the loss event data to identify (i) a particular type of the loss event, and (ii) a degree associated with the particular type and indicating an expected amount of damage from the loss event;
accessing historical data associated with the particular type of the loss event and the degree associated with the particular type, the historical data indicating a level of resources needed to manage at least one previous loss event of the particular type and of the degree, the resources comprising physical parts or supplies;
comparing, with one or more processors, the loss event data to the historical data to determine that a demand for the physical parts or supplies will change; and
based on the comparison of the loss event data to the historical data, contacting a vendor or supplier of the physical parts or supplies to notify the vendor or supplier that the demand will change.

Abstract
Methods and systems for modifying resources equipped to manage loss events and processing associated therewith based on an analysis of real-time data. An insurance provider can maintain historical data that indicates resources usage data for managing previously-occurring loss events. The insurance provider can receive real-time first-party and third-party loss event data from a variety of sources, the loss event data being associated with a recent or forecasted loss event. The insurance provider can compare the received loss event data to the historical data to determine that resources configured to manage insurance claim processing resulting from the loss event may need to be modified. In embodiments, the resources may be hardware or software resources, a workforce, physical goods or supplies, or other resources. The insurance provider can facilitate the appropriate resource modification by interfacing with various components and entities.

11. A system for modifying resources to manage loss events, comprising:
-
a communication module adapted to receive loss event data related to a loss event, the loss event data (i) recorded by at least one sensor associated with at least one property and (ii) received during occurrence of the loss event; a memory adapted to store historical data of previous loss events; and a processor adapted to interface with the communication module and the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute non-transitory computer executable instructions stored in the memory to cause the processor to; examine the loss event data to identify (i) a particular type of the loss event, and (ii) a degree associated with the particular type and indicating an expected amount of damage from the loss event, access at least a portion of the historical data that is associated with the particular type of the loss event and the degree associated with the particular type, the at least the portion of the historical data indicating a level of resources needed to manage at least one previous loss event of the particular type and of the degree, the resources comprising physical parts or supplies, compare the loss event data to the at least the portion of the historical data to determine that a demand for the physical parts or supplies will change, and based on the comparison, contact a vendor or supplier of the physical parts or supplies to notify the vendor or supplier that the demand will change. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)
