Abstract

An information processing apparatus having a touch panel display includes a detection unit configured to detect a touch operation performed by a user on the touch panel display, and a display control unit configured to, when the detection unit detects that an object has touched a predetermined region and further detects that the object touching the predetermined region has separated therefrom, control a display to shift to a screen associated with the predetermined region. Further, the display control unit is configured to, during a period from when the object has touched the predetermined region until when the object has separated therefrom, display a text string on the predetermined region of the touch panel display, and scroll-display a text string on the predetermined region if the text string exceeds a number of characters displayable at a time on the predetermined region.

Claims

1. An information processing apparatus including a touch panel display, the information processing apparatus comprising:

a detection unit configured to detect a touch operation performed by a user on the touch panel display; and

a display control unit configured to, when the detection unit detects that an object has touched a predetermined region and further detects that the object touching the predetermined region has separated therefrom, control a display to shift to a screen associated with the predetermined region;

wherein the display control unit is configured to, during a period from when the object has touched the predetermined region until when the object has separated therefrom, display a text string on the predetermined region of the touch panel display, and scroll-display a text string on the predetermined region if the text string exceeds a number of characters displayable at a time on the predetermined region.

2. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the display control unit is configured to control the scroll display of the text string to be started when the detection unit detects that the object has touched the predetermined region.

3. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the display control unit is configured to continue the scroll display of the text string while the detection unit detects that the object is touching the predetermined region.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the display control unit is configured to end the scroll display of the text string in a case where the detection unit detects that the object has moved outside the predetermined region while touching the touch panel display, after the detection unit detects that the object has touched the predetermined region.

5. The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a change unit configured to change a scroll speed of the scroll display.

The information processing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the change unit is configured to change the scroll speed in a case where the detection unit detects that the object has moved within the predetermined region while touching the touch panel display, after the detection unit detects that the object has touched the predetermined region.

7. A method for controlling an information processing apparatus including a touch panel display, the method comprising:

detecting a touch operation performed by a user on the touch panel display; and

controlling, when the detecting detects that an object has touched a predetermined region and further detects that the object touching the predetermined region has separated therefrom, a display to shift to a screen associated with the predetermined region,

wherein, in the controlling, during a period from when the object has touched the predetermined region until when the object has separated therefrom, a text string is displayed on the predetermined region of the touch panel display, and a text string exceeding a number of characters displayable at a time on the predetermined region is scroll-displayed on the predetermined region.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method comprising:

detecting a touch operation performed by a user on the touch panel display; and

controlling, when the detecting detects that an object has touched a predetermined region and further detects that the object touching the predetermined region has separated therefrom, a display to shift to a screen associated with the predetermined region,

wherein, in the controlling, during a period from when the object has touched the predetermined region until when the object has separated therefrom, a text string is displayed on the predetermined region of the touch panel display, and a text string exceeding a number of characters displayable at a time on the predetermined region is scroll-displayed on the predetermined region.
