Abstract

Provided is a method and apparatus for setting a detour path in a wideband high frequency wireless system using a centralized Media Access Control (MAC) protocol. Here, in a wireless system using the centralized MAC protocol where a time synchronization and a band allocation may be performed by a single central control unit, when a signal blockage occurs while a data communication is being performed via a direct path between a source device and a destination device, the detour path may be quickly provided.

Claims

1. An operating method of a source device in a network, the method comprising:

identifying at least one device using a first information included in relay capacity information of the at least one device, the first information indicating whether the at least one device operates as a relay device; and

selecting a relay device from the identified device, wherein the relay device provides a detour path with respect to a direct communication path between the source device and a destination device.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising verifying whether the destination device is capable of using a detour path through the relay device based on relay capacity information of the destination device.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the relay capacity information comprises the first information and a second information adjacent to the first information, the second information indicating whether the at least one device is capable of using a detour path.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the source device, the destination device, and the relay device belong to a same network.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the identifying comprise transmitting a probe request command message and receiving a probe response command message that includes the relay capacity information.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising performing a beamforming process with the relay device;

and obtaining channel information between the source device and the relay device based on the beamforming process.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising obtaining channel information between the relay device and the destination device based on a beamforming process between the source device and the destination device.
