Abstract

Embodiments disclose extracting a user persona from a video of arbitrary duration and associating that persona with text for a chat session. Embodiments cause the persona to be extracted at the moment text is sent or received to convey the body language associated with the text.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for combining an extracted persona with content during a chat session, the method comprising:

creating a first scene, with at least one computer, by;

receiving first content from a first user,

extracting a first persona from a first video of the first user;

associating the first persona with the first content so as to associate an expression of the first user from the first video during generation of the first content; and

displaying the associated first persona and first content as a first scene.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein creating a first scene further comprises:

extracting a second persona from a second video of a second user;

associating the second persona with the first persona and first content so as to associate an expression of the second user from the second video during consumption the first content; and

displaying the associated first persona, second persona, and first content as a first scene.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the first persona may be approved, by the first user, before displaying the first persona.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising creating a second scene, subsequent to the first scene, with at least one computer, by:

receiving second content from a second user;

extracting a second persona from a second video of the second user;

associating the second persona with the second content so as to associate an expression of the second user from the second video during generation of the second content; and

displaying the associated second persona and second content as a second scene.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, further comprising creating one or more additional scenes subsequent in time to the second scene.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, wherein after the second scene is created, receiving a selection of the first content and displaying the first and second personas as they appeared in the first scene.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising creating a second scene by performing the steps for creating the first scene a second time, the creating a second scene being initiated by a facial expression or physical gesture of the first user, wherein both first and second scenes depict the first user, and wherein no content is received, such that the first scene contains a first persona and the second scene contains a second persona with both first and second personas representing the first user without associated content.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 6, wherein the display is visible to a second user and wherein, if the first user is not present to associate the first user to the first video, then a placeholder, and not the first persona, is used to represent the first user in the second scene.

10. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein creating a first scene further comprises:

extracting a second persona from a second video of a second user;

associating the second persona with the first persona and first content so as to associate an expression of the second user from the second video during consumption the first content; and

displaying the associated first persona, second persona, and first content as a first scene.

11. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 8, wherein the first persona may be approved, by the first user, before displaying the first persona.

12. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising instructions for creating a second scene, subsequent to the first scene, with at least one computer, by:

receiving second content from a second user;

extracting a second persona from a second video of the second user;

associating the second persona with the second content so as to associate an expression of the second user from the second video during generation of the second content; and

displaying the associated second persona and second content as a second scene.

13. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising creating one or more additional scenes subsequent in time to the second scene.

14. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 12, wherein after the second scene is created, receiving a selection of the first content and displaying the first and second personas as they appeared in the first scene.

15. The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 8, further comprising instructions for comprising creating a second scene by performing the steps for creating the first scene a second time, the creating a second scene being initiated by a facial expression or physical gesture of the first user, wherein both first and second scenes depict the first user, and wherein no content is received, such that the first scene contains a first persona and the second scene contains a second persona with both first and second personas representing the first user without associated content.

The non-transient computer-readable medium of claim 12, wherein the display is visible to a second user and wherein, if the first user is not present to associate the first user to the first video, then a placeholder, and not the first persona, is used to represent the first user in the second scene.

20. The system of claim 15, further comprising programs, which when executed by computer, cause the computer to create a second scene by:

receiving second content from a second user;

extracting a second persona from a second video of the second user;

associating the second persona with the second content so as to associate an expression of the second user from the second video during generation of the second content; and

displaying the associated second persona and second content as a second scene.

21. The system of claim 20, wherein after the second scene is created, receiving a selection of the first content and displaying the first and second personas as they appeared in the first scene.

22. The system of claim 15, further comprising one or more programs, which when executed by the computer, cause the computer to create a second scene by creating the first scene a second time, the creating a second scene being initiated by a facial expression or physical gesture of the first user, wherein both first and second scenes depict the first user, and wherein no content is received, such that the first scene contains a first persona and the second scene contains a second persona with both first and second personas representing the first user without associated content.

9. A non-transient computer-readable medium comprising a set of instructions which, when executed by a computer, combine an extracted persona with content during a chat session, said set comprising instructions for:

creating a first scene, with at least one computer, by;

receiving first content from a first user,

extracting a first persona from a first video of the first user;

associating the first persona with the first content so as to associate an expression of the first user from the first video during generation of the first content; and

displaying the associated first persona and first content as a first scene.

17. A system for combining an extracted persona with content during a chat session comprising:

at least one computer; and

a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon one or more programs, which when executed by the computer, cause the computer to;

create a first scene, with at least one computer, by;

receiving first content from a first user,

extracting a first persona from a first video of the first user;

associating the first persona with the first content so as to associate an expression of the first user from the first video during generation of the first content; and

displaying the associated first persona and first content as a first scene.

18. The system of claim 17, further comprising:

extracting a second persona from a second video of a second user;

associating the second persona with the first persona and first content; and

displaying the associated first persona, second persona, and first content as a first scene, wherein the second persona represents the second user at a moment related to the second user receiving the first content.

19. The system of claim 17, wherein the first persona may be approved, by the first user, before displaying the first persona.
