Abstract

A mobile terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed, which facilitates a terminal to be used in further consideration of user'"'"'s convenience. The present invention includes a display, a memory configured to store at least one image fragment, a 1^st camera, and a controller, if the 1^st camera is activated, displaying a preview screen of an image received from the 1^st camera, the controller controlling the display to display a prescribed one of the stored at least one image fragment on a prescribed region of the preview screen. Accordingly, when a photo is taken using a terminal, a photo-taker can be included in the taken photo in a manner of being synthesized with the corresponding photo.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal comprising:

a display;

a memory configured to store at least one image fragment;

a 1^st camera; and

a controller, if the 1^st camera is activated, displaying a preview screen of an image received from the 1^st camera, the controller controlling the display to display a prescribed one of the stored at least one image fragment on a prescribed region of the preview screen.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the at least one image fragment comprises an extracted image of a region of a 1^st character to be included in the prescribed region and wherein the extracted image is extracted from a prescribed image.

The mobile terminal of claim 2, further comprising a 2^nd camera, wherein the controller recognizes a face of a 2^nd character from the image received through the 2^nd camera and then synthesizes the recognized face of the 2^nd character with a face of the 1st character of the displayed image fragment.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, further comprising a user input unit configured to receive a shutter input, wherein if the shutter input is received from the user input unit, the controller saves the image received through the 1^st camera in the memory together with the prescribed image fragment.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller controls the received image to be saved in the memory in a manner of being synthesized with the prescribed image fragment.

6. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller detects an edge of a 3^rd character on the image received through the 1^st camera and determines the prescribed region based on the detected edge of the 3^rd character.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein the controller determines the prescribed region in a manner that the prescribed region avoids overlapping the detected edge of the 3^rd character.

8. The mobile terminal of claim 6, wherein the controller determines a height-directional length of the 3^rd character based on the detected edge of the 3^rd character and adjusts a size of the displayed image fragment based on the height-directional length of the 3^rd character.

9. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, comprising the steps of:

if a 1^st camera is activated, displaying a preview screen of an image received from the 1^st camera on a display; and

further displaying a prescribed image fragment among saved at least one image fragment on a prescribed region of the preview screen displayed on the display.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the at least one image fragment comprises an extracted image of a region of a 1^st character to be included in the prescribed region and wherein the extracted image is extracted from a prescribed image.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising the steps of:

if a 2^nd camera is activated, recognizing a face of a 2^nd character from the image received through the 2^nd camera; and

synthesizing the recognized face of the 2^nd character with a face of the 1^st character of the displayed image fragment.

12. The method of claim 9, further comprising the step of if a shutter input is received from a user input unit, saving the image received through the 1^st camera in a memory together with the prescribed image fragment.

13. The method of claim 12, the saving step comprising the step of saving the received image in the memory by synthesizing the received image with the prescribed image fragment.

14. The method of claim 9, further comprising the steps of:

detecting an edge of a 3^rd character on the image received through the 1^st camera; and

determining the prescribed region based on the detected edge of the 3^rd character.

15. The method of claim 14, the determining step comprising the step of determining the prescribed region in a manner that the prescribed region avoids overlapping the detected edge of the 3^rd character.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprising the steps of:

determining a height-directional length of the 3^rd character based on the detected edge of the 3^rd character; and

adjusting a size of the displayed image fragment based on the height-directional length of the 3^rd character.
