Abstract

Embodiments are provided for forming share bars including collections of content items. In some embodiments, a user interface may be displayed on a display interface of a user device. The user interface may include a first region including a collection of content items and a second region including one or more contact icons. A first gesture may be detected on the display interface that selects one or more content items from the collection of content items and places the one or more content items in a first share bar associated with a first contact of the one or more contacts. One or more share options may be provided to share the first share bar with a first contact corresponding to the first contact icon.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

displaying a user interface on a display screen of a user device, the user interface comprising;

a collection of content items in a first region; and

a second region comprising a first share bar specific to a first contact of the user and a second share bar specific to a second contact of the user, wherein the first share bar includes a first contact icon representing the first contact and the second share bar includes a second contact icon representing the second contact;

detecting a first touch gesture on the display interface selecting a first content item from the collection of content items;

displaying, within the first share bar, a first thumbnail for the first content item in response to the first touch gesture; and

providing, within the first share bar, an option to share any content items included in the first share bar with the first contact.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the first contact icon comprises one or more of the first contact'"'"'s email address, phone number, social media network profile, or account on a content management system.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first contact icon comprises one or more of a thumbnail image or a contact name for the first contact.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising including the first share bar in the second region based on the frequency of communications between the user and the first contact.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting a second touch gesture on the display interface selecting a second content item from the collection of content items; and

displaying, within the second share bar, a second thumbnail for the second content item in response to the second touch gesture.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

providing, within the second share bar, an option to share any content items included in the second share bar with the second contact.

10. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

determining if the first content item has already been included within the first share bar.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein if it is determined that the first content item has already been included within the first share bar, the method further comprises:

notifying the user that the first content item has already been included within the first share bar.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein if the first content item has already been included within the first share bar, the method further comprises:

presenting a grayed-out version of the first content item within the first region of the user interface.

21. The method of claim 1, wherein detecting the first gesture comprises detecting a single touch gesture.

22. The method of claim 1, wherein the first touch gesture is provided with relation to both the first content item and the first share bar.

23. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

concealing the first share bar prior to the first touch gesture; and

revealing the first share bar in response to the first touch gesture and prior to completion of the first touch gesture.

24. The method of claim 23, further comprising:

determining that a direction of the first touch gesture is towards the first share bar; and

revealing the first share bar in further response to the determination that the direction of the first touch gesture is towards the first share bar.

25. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying multiple thumbnails representing multiple content items in the first share bar;

automatically adjusting a size of one or more of the multiple thumbnails based on a quantity of the multiple thumbnails and a size of the first share bar; and

providing an option to scroll through the multiple thumbnails within the first share bar.

13. A method, comprising:

displaying a user interface comprising a first content item from a collection of content items in full screen mode on a display screen of a user device;

providing, when the first content item is displayed in full screen mode a plurality of options for interacting with the first content item, wherein each of the plurality of options corresponds to a single touch gesture;

detecting a touch gesture with the display interface, the touch gesture corresponding to a first option from the plurality of options;

in response to the touch gesture;

performing an action corresponding to the first option,

removing the first content item from the user interface, and

automatically replacing, within the user interface and without additional user input, the first content item with a second content item in full screen mode, wherein the second content item is from the collection of content items.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein performing, in response to the touch gesture, an action corresponding to the first option comprises at least one of:

deleting the first content item from the collection of content items;

or

adding the first content item to a share bar.

16. The method of claim 13, wherein automatically replacing the first content item with the second content item comprises displaying the second item sequentially following the first content item.

18. The method of claim 13, wherein the touch gesture comprises a flick, a swipe, or a drag.

26. The method of claim 13, wherein each of the plurality of options corresponds to a common type of touch gesture.

27. The method of claim 26, wherein each of the plurality of options further corresponds to a touch gesture having a distinct direction.

28. The method of claim 13, further comprising providing, when the second content item is displayed in full screen mode, the plurality of options for interacting with the second content item.

29. The method of claim 13, wherein none of the plurality of options require interaction with a selectable graphical element in the user interface.
