Abstract

A vehicle diagnosis system includes an abnormality determiner for determining whether a vehicle having an abnormality regarding a temporal engine stop function or a power regeneration function is caused in a mode that cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect of the engine. When an abnormality that cancels, due to disablement of the temporal engine stop function or the power regeneration function, such an abnormality is quickly notified to a driver of the vehicle by the vehicle diagnosis system so that the abnormality is quickly fixed.

Claims

1. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting, as an events count, (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively in a prerequisite satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite is expected;

an episode counter counting, as an episodes count, (i) a number of episodes or (ii) an accumulated time of the episodes; and

an output section outputting the events count and the episodes count to an external device.

2. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting, as an events count, (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively in a prerequisite satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite is expected; and

a voiding-episode counter counting, as a voiding-episodes count, (i) a number of voiding episodes that void an episode occurrence in spite of respective occurrences of requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding episodes, wherein

the output section outputs the events count and the voiding-episodes count to an external device that is different from the vehicle.

3. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an episode counter counting, as an episodes count, (i) a number of episodes or (ii) an accumulated time of the episodes; and

a voiding-episode counter counting, as a voiding-episodes count, (i) a number of voiding episodes that void an episode occurrence in spite of respective occurrences of the requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding episodes, wherein

the output section outputs the events count and the voiding-episodes count to an external device that is different from the vehicle.

4. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting, as an events count, (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively in a prerequisite satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite is expected; and

a during-episode saved fuel calculator calculating, as a saved fuel amount, an accumulated amount of saved fuel by the temporal stop of the engine during an occurrence of the requisite-satisfied event, wherein

the output section outputs (i) the saved fuel amount and (ii) one of the events count and the voiding-episodes count to an external device that is different from the vehicle.

5. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an episode counter counting, as an episodes count, (i) a number of episodes or (ii) an accumulated time of the episodes; and

a during-event savable fuel estimator estimating, as a savable fuel amount, an amount of fuel savable by the temporal stop of the engine if the temporal stop of the engine were performed during all occurrences of the requisite-satisfied events, wherein

the output section outputs (i) the savable fuel amount and (ii) one of the episodes count and the voiding-episodes count and the saved fuel amount to an external device that is different from the vehicle.

6. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting, as an events count, (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively in a prerequisite satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite is expected; and

a during-event used fuel calculator calculating, as a used fuel amount, an accumulated amount of fuel used by the engine during each occurrence of the requisite-satisfied events, wherein

the output section outputs (i) the savable fuel amount and (ii) one of the episodes count and the voiding-episodes count and the saved fuel amount to an external device that is different from the vehicle.

7. A vehicle diagnosis system for diagnosing a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition satisfied for performing a temporal stop of the engine is satisfied; and

an abnormality determiner determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding a temporal engine stop function is caused, which cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal stop of the engine, based on (i) a state of determination of the prerequisite determiner or (ii) a state of operation for performing the temporal stop of the engine.

8. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting an event count that represents either (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time accumulating a duration of each of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively observed in a prerequisite condition satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite condition is expected; and

an operation counter counting an operations count that represents either (i) a number of temporal engine stop operations or (ii) an accumulated time of each of the temporal engine stop operations, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on the events count and the operations count.

9. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 8, wherein

the event counter obtains the events count by counting a number of trips, each trip having the requisite-satisfied event occurred therein, and

the operation counter obtains the operations count by counting a number of trips, each of such trips having the operation occurred therein.

10. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting an event count that represents either (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time accumulating a duration of each of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively observed in a prerequisite condition satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite condition is expected; and

a voiding-operation counter counting (i) a number of voiding operations as voiding-operations count, each of the voiding operations representing non-occurrence of the operation in spite of an occurrence of the requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding operations, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on the events count and the operations count.

11. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an operation counter counting an operations count that represents either (i) a number of temporal engine stop operations or (ii) an accumulated time of each of the temporal engine stop operations; and

a voiding-operation counter counting a number of voiding operations as voiding-operations count, each of the voiding-operations representing non-occurrence of the operation in spite of an occurrence of the requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding-operations, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on the operations count and the voiding-operations count.

12. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting an event count that represents either (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determiner determines that the requisite condition is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time accumulating a duration of each of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively observed in a prerequisite condition satisfied expected state in which satisfaction of the prerequisite condition is expected;

a voiding-operation counter counting (i) a number of voiding operations as voiding-operations count, each of the voiding operations representing non-occurrence of the operation in spite of an occurrence of the requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding operations; and

a saved fuel calculator calculating, as a saved fuel amount, an amount of fuel saved by the temporal stop of the engine during each of the requisite-satisfied events, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on (i) the saved fuel amount and (ii) one of the events count or the voiding-operations count.

13. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an operation counter counting an operations count that represents either (i) a number of temporal engine stop operations or (ii) an accumulated time of each of the temporal engine stop operations;

a voiding-operation counter counting (i) a number of voiding operations as voiding-operations count, each of the voiding operations representing non-occurrence of the operation in spite of an occurrence of the requisite-satisfied event or (ii) an accumulated time of the voiding operations; and

a during-event savable fuel estimator estimating, as a savable fuel amount, an amount of fuel savable by the temporal stop of the engine if the temporal stop of the engine were performed during all occurrences of the requisite-satisfied events, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on (i) the savable fuel amount and (ii) one of the events count, the voiding-operations count, or the saved fuel amount.

14. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, further comprising:

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an operation counter counting an operations count that represents either (i) a number of temporal engine stop operations or (ii) an accumulated time of each of the temporal engine stop operations; and

a during-event used fuel calculator accumulating, as a used fuel amount, an amount of fuel used by the engine during the requisite-satisfied events, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on (i) the savable fuel amount and (ii) one of the events count, the operations count, the saved fuel amount, or the savable fuel amount.

15. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 7, wherein

the abnormality determiner determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality when the prerequisite determiner does not determine that the prerequisite condition is satisfied even after a preset time lapse condition is satisfied which is defined as a lapsing of a preset time amount from a start of the engine.

16. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 15, wherein

a threshold for a determination whether the preset time lapse condition is satisfied is switched to a different threshold for a restart-after-temporal-stop case.

17. A vehicle diagnosis system disposed in a vehicle, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

an accelerator-off counter counting accelerator-offs each of which representing an occurrence of an accelerator-off state;

a temporal-stop counter counting temporal-stops of an engine during an accelerator-off period; and

one of

an output section outputting an accelerator-offs count and a temporal-stops count to an external device that is different from the vehicle, or

an abnormality determiner determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding a temporal-stop of the engine is caused, which cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal stop of the engine, based on the accelerator-offs count and the temporal-stops count.

20. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 17, wherein

the accelerator-offs count represents (i) a number of accelerator-offs or (ii) a cumulative total time of accelerator-offs.

21. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 17, wherein

the accelerator-offs count represents an estimation of a savable fuel amount if the temporal-stop of the engine were performed during all accelerator-off periods.

22. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 17, wherein

the temporal-stops count represents (i) a number of temporal-stops during the accelerator-off periods or (ii) an accumulated time of temporal-stops during the accelerator-off periods.

23. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 17, wherein

the temporal-stops count represents an accumulated amount of fuel saved by the temporal-stops of the engine during the accelerator-off periods.

18. A vehicle diagnosis system disposed in a vehicle, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

an accelerator-off counter counting accelerator-offs that represent a number of occurrences of an accelerator-off state;

an inactive temporal-stop counter counting inactive temporal-stops of the engine during an accelerator-off period; and

one of

an output section outputting an accelerator-offs count and an inactive temporal-stops count to an external device that is different from the vehicle, or

an abnormality determiner determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding a temporal-stop of the engine is caused, which cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal-stop of the engine, based on the accelerator-offs count or the inactive temporal-stops count.

24. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 18, wherein

the inactive temporal-stops count represents (i) a number of inactive temporal-stops during the accelerator-off periods or (ii) an accumulated time of inactive temporal-stops during the accelerator-off periods.

25. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 18, wherein

the inactive temporal-stops count represents an accumulated amount of fuel used by an idling of the engine during the accelerator-off periods.

19. A vehicle diagnosis system disposed in a vehicle, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a temporal-stop counter counting temporal-stops of an engine of the vehicle during an accelerator-off period;

an inactive temporal-stop counter counting inactive temporal-stops of the engine during the accelerator-off period; and

one of

an output section outputting a temporal-stops count and an inactive temporal-stop voidings count to an external device that is different from the vehicle, or

an abnormality determiner determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding a temporal-stop of the engine is caused, which cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal-stop of the engine, based on the temporal-stops count or the inactive temporal-stops count.

26. A vehicle diagnosis method for performing a diagnosis of a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle when a certain condition is satisfied, the vehicle diagnosis method comprising:

determining whether a prerequisite is satisfied for performing a temporal stop of the engine; and

determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding the temporal engine stop function is caused, which cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal stop of the engine, based on (i) a state of determination of the prerequisite determination step or (ii) a state of operation for performing the temporal stop of the engine.

27. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 26, further comprising:

determining whether a requisite for performing the temporal stop of the engine is satisfied, the requisite being different from the prerequisite;

counting an events count that represents either (i) a number of requisite-satisfied events in which the requisite determination step determines that the requisite is satisfied or (ii) an accumulated time accumulating a duration of each of the requisite-satisfied events, respectively observed in a prerequisite meet expected state in which meeting of the prerequisite is expected; and

counting an operations count that represents either (i) a number of temporal engine stop operations or (ii) an accumulated time accumulating a duration of each of the temporal engine stop operations, wherein

determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding the temporal engine stop function is caused determines an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality based on the events count and the operations count.

28. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 27, wherein

counting an events count includes counting a number of trips, each of such trips having the requisite-satisfied event occurred therein, as the events count, and

counting an operations count includes counting a number of trips, each of such trips having the operation occurred therein, as the operations count.

29. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 26, wherein

determining whether a vehicle abnormality regarding the temporal engine stop function is caused includes determining an occurrence of the vehicle abnormality when the prerequisite determination step does not determine that the prerequisite is satisfied even after a preset time lapse condition is satisfied which is a lapse of preset time from a start of the engine.

30. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 26, wherein

a threshold for a determination whether the preset time lapse condition is satisfied is switched for a restart-after-temporal-stop case and for other cases.

31. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

an abnormality determiner determining an occurrence of a specific abnormality of the vehicle, the specific abnormality being an abnormality in a mode that cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal engine stop function.

32. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 31, wherein

the abnormality determiner includes

a specific abnormality determination section determining an occurrence of the specific abnormality, and

a generic abnormality determination section determining an occurrence of a generic abnormality of the vehicle, the generic abnormality being different from the specific abnormality.

33. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 31, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a satisfaction of a prerequisite condition of a temporal stop of the engine or (ii) a determination of satisfaction of the prerequisite condition of the temporal stop of the engine.

34. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 31, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a satisfaction of a requisite condition for performing a temporal stop of the engine or (ii) a determination of satisfaction of the requisite condition for performing the temporal stop of the engine.

35. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 33, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a reaching of an engine cooling water temperature to a standard temperature or (ii) a detection of the reaching of the engine cooling water temperature to the standard temperature.

36. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 33, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a reaching of a sensor temperature of a sensor that is disposed in an exhaust passage of the engine to a standard temperature or (ii) a detection of the reaching of the sensor temperature to the standard temperature.

37. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 33, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a reaching of a remaining charge amount of a battery installed in the vehicle to a standard amount or (ii) a detection of the reaching of the remaining charge amount to the standard amount.

38. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 33, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a reaching of an inter-terminal voltage of a battery disposed in the vehicle to a standard voltage or (ii) a detection of the reaching of the inter-terminal voltage to the standard voltage.

39. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 33, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a reaching of an oil temperature of a transmission disposed in the vehicle to a standard temperature or (ii) a detection of the reaching of the oil temperature to the standard temperature.

40. A vehicle diagnosis method for performing a diagnosis for a vehicle having a temporal engine stop function that temporarily stops an engine of the vehicle in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis method comprising:

determining an occurrence of abnormality of the vehicle, which includes determining whether a specific abnormality is occurring, and whether the specific abnormality is an abnormality in a mode that cancels a greenhouse gas reduction effect by the temporal engine stop function.

41. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 40, wherein

determining an occurrence of a specific abnormality of the vehicle includes:

determining an occurrence of the specific abnormality, and

determining an occurrence of a generic abnormality of the vehicle, the generic abnormality being different from the specific abnormality.

42. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 40, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a satisfaction of a prerequisite condition of a temporal stop of the engine or (ii) a determination of satisfaction of the prerequisite condition of the temporal stop of the engine.

43. The vehicle diagnosis method of claim 40, wherein

the specific abnormality is an abnormality that hinders or delays (i) a satisfaction of a requisite condition of a temporal stop of the engine or (ii) a determination of satisfaction of the requisite condition of the temporal stop of the engine.

44. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing an electric power regeneration is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the electric power regeneration is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting events and obtaining an events count, the events counted being either (i) satisfaction events respectively determined by the requisite determiner as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfaction expected state or (ii) an accumulated time of counted events;

an operation counter counting operations or obtaining an operation count, the operations counted being either (i) electric power regeneration operations actually performed or (ii) an accumulated time of electric power regeneration operations performed; and

an output section outputting the event count and the operation count to an external device.

48. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the event counter obtains the event count by counting a number of trips during which the event occurs, and

the operation counter obtains the operation count by counting a number of trips during which the operation occurs.

49. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the event counter obtains the event count by counting a regenerated electric power to be generated in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the operation counter obtains the operation count by counting the electric power generated by the electric power regeneration operations.

50. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the vehicle has a storage battery that is electrically connected to the generator,

the event counter obtains the event count by counting a regenerated electric power to be output to the storage battery from the generator in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the event counter obtains the event count by counting a requested electric power that is requested to a controller of the generator in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the operation counter obtains the operation count by counting the requested electric power sent to the controller of the generator by the electric power regeneration operations.

52. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the event counter obtains the event count by counting a travel distance of the vehicle while the event is occurring, and

the operation counter obtains the operation count by counting the travel distance of the vehicle while the regeneration operation is occurring.

53. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the event counter obtains the event count as an expected value of change of a remaining charge amount of the storage battery which is caused by charging of electric power from the generator to the storage battery in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the operation counter obtains the operation count as the change of the remaining charge amount of the storage battery which is caused by charging of electric power from the generator to the storage battery.

54. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 44, wherein

the event is replaced from the occasion determined as satisfaction of the requisite condition in the prerequisite satisfaction expected state to an occasion determined as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfied state.

45. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing an electric power regeneration is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the electric power regeneration is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting events and obtaining an events count, the events counted being either (i) satisfaction events respectively determined by the requisite determiner as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfaction expected state or (ii) an accumulated time of counted events;

an operation counter counting operations or obtaining an operations count, the operations counted being either (i) electric power regeneration operations actually performed or (ii) an accumulated time of electric power regeneration operations performed; and

an abnormality determiner determining, based on the event count and the operation count, whether an abnormality of the vehicle regarding the electric power regeneration function is caused in a mode within which a greenhouse gas reduction effect of the electric power regeneration function is cancelled.

46. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing an electric power regeneration is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the electric power regeneration is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting events and obtaining an events count, the events counted being either (i) satisfaction events respectively determined by the requisite determiner as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfaction expected state or (ii) an accumulated time of counted events;

a missing operation counter counting missing operations in spite of having the counted events or obtaining a missing operation count, the missing operations counted being either (i) a number of electric power regeneration operations not performed in event counted occasions or (ii) an accumulated time of the missing operations; and

one of

an output section outputting the event count and the missing operation count to an external device, or

an abnormality determiner determining whether an abnormality of the vehicle is caused based on the event count and the missing operation count.

47. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a prerequisite determiner determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing an electric power regeneration is satisfied;

a requisite determiner determining whether a requisite condition for performing the electric power regeneration is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

an event counter counting events and obtaining an events count, the events counted being satisfaction events respectively determined by the requisite determiner as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfaction expected state;

a missing operation counter counting missing operations in spite of having the counted events or obtaining a missing operation count, the missing operations counted being either (i) a number of electric power regeneration operations not performed in event counted occasions or (ii) an accumulated time of the missing operations; and

one of

an output section outputting the event count and the missing operation count to an external device, or

an abnormality determiner determining whether an abnormality of the vehicle is caused based on the event count and the missing operation count.

55. A vehicle diagnosis system for performing a diagnosis-related process for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

at least two of a first accumulator, a second accumulator, and a third accumulator,

the first accumulator determining a number of brake pedal depressions or a total time of brake pedal depression, each of the brake pedal depressions exceeding a preset amount of brake pedal depression,

the second accumulator determining a total number or a total time of missing electric power regenerations by the generator during brake pedal depression periods exceeding the preset amount of brake pedal depression, and

the third accumulator determining a total number or a total time of electric power regenerations by the generator during the brake pedal depression periods exceeding the preset amount of brake pedal depression;

the vehicle diagnosis system further comprising;

at least one of

an output section outputting to an external device that is external to the vehicle at least two pieces of information derived from the at least two of the first accumulator, the second accumulator, and the third accumulator, or

an abnormality determiner determining an abnormality of the vehicle based on the at least two pieces of information.

56. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the first accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number or the time of brake pedal depressions, a kinetic energy of the vehicle immediately before the brake pedal depressions.

57. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the first accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number or the time of brake pedal depressions, a supposed regenerated electric power amount that is supposedly regenerated if performing electric power regeneration throughout the brake pedal depression periods.

58. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the second accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number or the time of missing electric power regenerations by the generator during the brake pedal depression periods, a missing amount of regenerated electric power not regenerated due to disabled-regeneration during the brake pedal depression periods.

59. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the second accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number or the time of missing electric power regenerations by the generator during the brake pedal depression periods, a negative work of braking during the brake pedal depression periods.

60. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the second accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number of missing regenerations of electric power by the generator during the brake pedal depression periods, a regenerated amount of electric power by performing the electric power regeneration operations during the brake pedal depression periods.

61. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the third accumulator accumulates, instead of accumulating the number or the time of electric power regenerations by the generator during the brake pedal depression periods, an amount of actually regenerated electric power during brake pedal depression periods exceeding the preset amount of brake pedal depression.

62. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 55, wherein

the second accumulator accumulates at least one of (i) an amount of negative work by an engine or a transmission and (ii) an amount of negative work by a travel resistance of the vehicle.

63. A method of performing a diagnosis for a vehicle that has an electric power regeneration function that is performed by using a generator in a certain condition satisfied state, the method comprising:

determining whether a prerequisite condition for performing an electric power regeneration is satisfied;

determining whether a requisite condition for performing the electric power regeneration is satisfied, the requisite condition being different from the prerequisite condition;

counting events and obtaining an events count, the events counted being either (i) satisfaction events respectively determined by the requisite determiner as satisfaction of the requisite condition in a prerequisite satisfaction expected state or (ii) an accumulated time of counted events;

counting operations or obtaining an operations count, the operations counted being either (i) electric power regeneration operations actually performed or (ii) an accumulated time of electric power regeneration operations performed; and

determining, based on the event count and the operation count, whether an abnormality of the vehicle regarding the electric power regeneration function is caused in a mode within which a greenhouse gas reduction effect is cancelled.

64. The method of claim 63, wherein

the event count is obtained by counting a number of trips during which the event occurs, and

the operation count is obtained by counting a number of trips during which the operation occurs.

65. The method of claim 63, wherein

the event count is obtained by counting an amount of regenerated electric power to be generated in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the operation count is obtained by counting the electric power generated by the electric power regeneration operations.

66. The method of claim 63, wherein

the vehicle has a storage battery that is electrically connected to the generator,

the event count is obtained by counting a regenerated electric power to be output to the storage battery from the generator in response to an occurrence of the event, and

the operation count is obtained by counting the electric power output to the storage battery from the generator by the regeneration operations.

67. A vehicle diagnosis system configured to perform a diagnosis of a vehicle that is equipped with a generator having a regeneration function, the vehicle diagnosis system comprising:

a detector detecting electric power regeneration being performed in a manner that reduces a greenhouse gas reduction effect.

68. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 67, further comprising:

a fuel cut requester generating a fuel cut request for performing a fuel cut of an internal combustion engine in the vehicle based on a drive state of the vehicle; and

a regeneration requester generating a regeneration request for performing a regeneration based on the drive state of the vehicle, wherein

the detector detects, during a generation of the fuel cut request by the regeneration requester, a failure to perform the fuel cut in a fuel-cut-should-be-performed drive state of the vehicle.

69. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 67, further comprising:

a fuel cut requester generating a fuel cut request for performing a fuel cut of an internal combustion engine in the vehicle based on a drive state of the vehicle; and

a regeneration requester generating a regeneration request for performing a regeneration in a fuel-cut-should-be-performed drive state of the vehicle based on the drive state of the vehicle, wherein

the detector detects, during a generation of the fuel cut request by the regeneration requester, a failure to perform the fuel cut.

70. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 68, wherein

the detector detects the failure to perform the fuel cut during the generation of the regeneration request based on a signal that controls a drive of a fuel spraying device in the engine.

71. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 68, wherein

the detector detects the failure to perform the fuel cut during the generation of the regeneration request based on a drive state of a fuel spraying device in the engine.

72. The vehicle diagnosis system of claim 67, further comprising:

a regeneration requester generating a regeneration request for performing a regeneration in a fuel-cut-should-be-performed drive state of the vehicle based on the drive state of the vehicle;

a power generation amount configurator setting a parameter that corresponds to a target power generation amount of the generator based on a generation state of the regeneration request by the regeneration requester; and

a power generation amount obtainer obtaining a parameter that corresponds to an actual power generation amount by the generator, wherein

the detector detects electric power regeneration being performed in the manner that reduces a greenhouse gas reduction effect based on the parameter that corresponds to a target power generation amount and the parameter that corresponds to an actual power generation amount.
