1. A method of overlaying an interactive and bidirectional message on a communications signal, the method comprising:
- receiving a communications signal via a communications signal input connection of a hub;
transmitting the communications signal to an overlay mixer circuit of the hub;
receiving an overlay signal via an overlay signal input connection of the hub;
processing the overlay signal to produce an overlay message;
transmitting the overlay message to the overlay mixer circuit;
overlaying the overlay message onto the communications signal using the overlay mixer circuit to produce an overlaid communications signal; and
transmitting the overlaid communications signal through a communications signal output connection of the hub.

Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for overlaying interactive and bidirectional messages on a communications device via a communications signal. The system and related methods allow for such communications between remote locations where one of the locations has a communications device, such as a television. Data from a sensor, such as a medical device, or input from a user, such as a patient, may be communicated between the locations. The overlaid messages may be displayed on the communications device display, such as a television or computer.

13. A system for bidirectional and interactive communication between a remote location and a data center over an active communications signal, the system comprising:
