WEARABLE DEVICE TO DETECT INFLAMATION
First Claim
1. A system of devices for detecting systemic inflammation in a body on which the devices are worn, comprising:
- a plurality of wireless wearable devices that are wirelessly linked with one another using one or more radios included in each device, andeach device including a sensor system having one or both of;
a first sensor configured to couple with body tissue and to generate a first signal indicative of force applied to the first sensor by the body tissue, anda motion sensor configured to generate a motion signal in response to motion of the body tissue;
a processor coupled with the sensor system and configured to analyze the first signal and the motion signal to determine motion induced error in the first signal caused by the motion of the body tissue, to subtract out the motion induced error, if present in the first signal, using the motion signal, and to generate a signal indicating a state of the body tissue, the state selected from the group consisting of an inflammation state, a contraction state, and a nominal state.

Abstract
A wireless wearable device to detect inflammation may include motion sensors for generating motion signals in response to body motion (e.g., accelerometry), force sensors for generating force signals in response to force exerted by a body portion on the force sensor, and biometric sensors for generating biometric signals indicative of biometric activity in the body (e.g., arousal in the SNS). Processing of the force signals using the motion signals may be used to remove errors in the force signals caused by the body motion. The processing may generate a signal that indicates a state of the body that is an inflammation state (I), a contraction state (C) or a nominal state (N). The inflammation state may be attributed to systemic inflammation, the contraction state may be attributed to dehydration/severe dehydration, and the normal state may be attributed to a normal baseline tissue pressure in the body of a user.
