DATA CAPABLE STRAPBAND FOR SLEEP MONITORING, COACHING, AND AVOIDANCE
First Claim
1. A data capable strapband, comprising:
- a wearable device includingone or more radios operative for wireless communication using one or more wireless protocols;
a sensor system includinga pressure sensor operative to couple with body tissue and to generate a force signal indicative of pressure applied to the pressure sensor by the body tissue,a motion sensor operative to generate a motion signal in response to motion of the body tissue,a plurality of biometric sensors operative to generate biometric signals including arousal signals in response to arousal of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS); and
a processor operative to analyze the force signal, the motion signal, and the arousal signals, the motion and force signals are analyzed to determine motion induced error in the force signal caused by the motion of the body tissue, to subtract out the motion induced error, if present in the force signal, using the motion signal, and to generate a signal indicating an inflammation (I) state, a contraction (C) state, or a nominal (N) state of the body tissue,the processor operative to communicate information relevant to a sleep state when the motion signal, the arousal signals or both indicate sleep and the I state of the body tissue or the C state of the body tissue are indicated.

Abstract
A wireless data capable strapband operative to detect inflammation, true resting heart rate (TRHR), and fatigue of a user may include sensors for generating motion signals in response to body motion (e.g., accelerometry), for generating force signals in response to force exerted by a body portion, for generating biometric signals indicative of biometric activity in the body (e.g., heart rate, respiration, arousal), and for generating location signals based on user location. The sensor signals may be processed to monitor parameters that may positively or negatively impact a state of sleep of the user (e.g., time of sleep, quality of sleep, hydration, inflammation, contraction, fatigue, TRHR, accelerometry, arousal of the SNS, etc.). Data from the processed signals may be presented (e.g., visually, sound, email, text message, tactile, webpage, etc.) to the user in a format (e.g., reports notifications, coaching, avoidance) intended to instruct/encourage the user to improve their state of sleep.
