A tennis practice device with a sound dampening device made out of soft rubber such as neoprene, EPDM or soft plastic material such as soft poly vinyl chloride, soft polyurethane, soft polyethylene or other suitable soft foam plastic or rubber material and is inserted between the tennis ball rebound panel and the support structure. The sound dampening device combines shock absorption, vibration damping and vibration isolation. The use of sound dampening device reduces sound even for the rebound surfaces made out of wood, plywood, oriented strand boards and plastic rebound panels in addition to the composite material consisting of cement, ground calcium silica, cellulose fibers, wood fibers and other select additives such as fly ash described in the present disclosure. In addition, the sound dampening material being soft enables differential tightening of the fasteners to make the sections flush with each other and make the rebound surface planar without any ridges.
