providing a guide wire having an elongate shaft extending along a longitudinal axis, wherein the first end of the guide wire is sharpened, wherein an attachment member comprising at least one flute that extend along the longitudinal axis of the attachment member, wherein the attachment member is coupled to the second end; inserting the first end of the guide wire into the bone in a first direction; and inserting the second end of the guide wire into the bone in a second direction, wherein the first direction is substantially opposite the second direction.
