Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for imaging, recognizing, and tracking of a user'"'"'s eye that is wearing a HWC. Aspects further relate to the processing of images reflected from the user'"'"'s eye and controlling displayed content in accordance therewith.

Claims

1. An eye-imaging system for a head-worn display, comprising:

a. A display adapted to produce image light, the display positioned to project the image light in-line with transfer optics adapted to present the image light to an eye of a user, the display including a set of positionally adjustable mirrors;

b. A camera positioned to capture eye-image light that originates as a reflection off of the eye, wherein the eye-image light travels in-line with an optical path traveled by the image light in the transfer optics; and

c. Wherein a subset of the set of positionally adjustable mirrors is used to project the image light to the transfer optics and another subset of the positionally adjustable mirrors is used to reflect the eye-image light to the camera.

2. The eye-imaging system of claim 1, wherein the eye-image light follows an optical path that does not involve the display.

3. The eye-imaging system of claim 1, wherein the eye-image light follows an optical path that involves the display.

4. The eye-imaging system of claim 1, wherein the camera is positioned in a dark light trap.

5. The eye-imaging system of claim 1, wherein the display is a DLP.

6. The eye-imaging system of claim 1, wherein the head-worn display is a see-through display.

7. The eye-imaging system of claim 4, wherein the dark-light trap includes a recess and the camera is positioned inside of the recess.
