Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to providing see-through computer display with improved optics.

Claims

1. A head-worn display with multiply folded optics providing improved displayed images overlaid onto a see-through view of a surrounding environment comprising:

a. A solid prism with an angled planar surface;

b. a self-luminous display providing image light associated with the displayed images; and

c. a flat reflective plate bonded to the planar surface that reflects image light associated with the displayed images, wherein the flat reflective plate is bonded to the solid prism.

2. The head-worn display of claim 1 wherein the self-luminous display is an OLED.

3. The head-worn display of claim 1 wherein the self-luminous display is a backlit LCD.

4. The head-worn display of claim 1 wherein the flat reflective plate is bonded to the solid prism with an index matched adhesive.

5. The head-worn display of claim 4 wherein the index matched adhesive has a refractive index that is +/−

0.05 of the refractive index of the solid prism.
