1. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
- circuitry configured to receive a first radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message from a cell of a first radio access technology (RAT);
wherein in response to the first RRC connection reconfiguration message, an RRC entity is configured and a first medium access control (MAC) entity is configured for the first RAT;
wherein the first RRC connection reconfiguration message includes information for configuring a first primary cell and at least one first secondary cell for the first RAT;
the circuitry is further configured to receive a second RRC connection reconfiguration message from a cell of the first RAT;
wherein in response to the second RRC connection reconfiguration message, the RRC entity is reconfigured for the second RAT and a second MAC entity is configured for the second RAT;
wherein the second RRC connection reconfiguration message includes information for configuring a second primary cell and at least one second secondary cell for the second RAT;
wherein the second RRC reconfiguration message includes information elements (IEs) for the first RAT and the second RAT;
wherein the first MAC entity and the second MAC entity are different; and
the circuitry is further configured to communicate with the first RAT and the second RAT simultaneously.

Abstract
Methods and apparatus for performing wireless communication in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) configured for multi-radio access technology (RAT) operation are disclosed. A method includes the WTRU wirelessly communicating information on a first operating frequency according to a first RAT. The WTRU also wirelessly communicates information on a second operating frequency according to a second RAT.
