Abstract

A disposable medical gown (100) includes a body covering portion (101) and optionally one or more sleeves (107,108). The body covering portion (101) defines a head insertion aperture (104) between a frontal body covering portion (103) configured to cover a frontal body portion of a wearer and a rear portion (203) configured to cover at least parts of shoulder blades of the wearer. A torso opening (201) is disposed on a side of the rear portion (203) opposite the head insertion aperture (104), and extends distally from the rear portion (203). One or more perforations (202) extend across the rear portion (203) at least partially between the torso opening (202) and the head insertion aperture (104), and facilitate easy removal of the gown (100). A user removes the gown (100) by pulling the front portion (103), thereby tearing the perforations. Elastic gatherings can be included to snug the gown about the torso or limbs of the user.

Claims

1. A gown, comprising:

a front portion and a rear portion defining a neck opening between the front portion and the rear portion;

sleeves extending distally away from an intersection of the front portion and the rear portion, each sleeve defining an arm insertion aperture and comprising a retention member to retain the each sleeve along an arm of a wearer; and

one or more tie members comprising a first tie member and a second tie member, the first tie member and the second tie member attached to the gown at a common connection point;

the first tie member to wrap about a front of a torso of the wearer, the second tie member to wrap about a backside of the wearer to tie to the first tie member;

the rear portion defining a slit configured to assist a user in donning the gown;

the gown to wrap around the torso of the wearer to the slit;

the slit terminating at a left side and a right side that meet to substantially cover the backside of the wearer when the first tie member is tied to the second tie member; and

one or more perforations extending across the rear portion at least partially between the slit and the neck opening, be one or more perforations to tear and split the rear portion when the front portion is pulled away from the wearer.

2. The gown of claim 1, the retention member comprising a thumb loop.

3. The gown of claim 2, the thumb loop to engage a saddle of a thumb of the wearer.

4. The gown of claim 3, the retention member further comprising an elastic gathering.

5. The gown of claim 1, the retention member comprising an elastic gathering.

6. The gown of claim 1, the common connection point disposed between the front portion and the rear portion.

7. The gown of claim 1, the common connection point coupled to the gown at a side tie attachment.

8. The gown of claim 1, the one or more of perforations comprising a plurality of scores separated by lengths of material.

9. The gown of claim 8, each perforation defining score about one inch long.

10. The gown of claim 9, the one or more of perforations comprising more than four scores.

11. The gown of claim 10, wherein the plurality of scores comprises five scores.

12. The gown of claim 9, each length of material each about one quarter inch long.

13. The gown of claim 12, wherein the gown is yellow.

14. The gown of claim 8, the plurality of scores having different lengths.

15. The gown of claim 14, lengths of material having non-uniform lengths.

16. The gown of claim 1, wherein the gown is disposable.

17. The gown of claim 1, the front portion longer than the rear portion.

18. The gown of claim 1, the one or more perforations non-uniform in length.

19. The gown of claim 1, the slit defining a closable opening, the one or more perforations comprising a single perforation extending linearly from the closable opening along the rear portion at least partially between the closable opening and the neck opening.

20. The gown of claim 1, the rear portion manufactured from a single, unitary layer of non-woven fabric.

21. The gown of claim 1, the first tie member and the second tie member attached to the front portion of the gown.
