Abstract

Embodiments of articles, apparatuses, devices and/or systems for manipulating hierarchical sets of data are disclosed.

Claims

56. A method of converting signal values representing a first expression for more convenient processing and/or storage, said method comprising:

executing one or more processors of one or more computing devices comprising;

accessing, from memory, signal values representing a first expression;

transforming said signal values representing said first expression to signal values representing a second expression, said represented expressions having a common view for non-common expression types of said represented expressions and having a non-common view for common expression types of said represented expressions, said represented expressions comprising at least one of the following expression types;

a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree or a symbol string; and

storing, in said memory, said signal values corresponding to said represented second expression.

57. The method of claim 56, wherein for non-common expression types said represented expressions comprise a symbol string including an ASCII symbol string that comprises one or more numerals.

58. The method of claim 57, wherein said signal values representing said first represented expression comprises a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree and said signal values representing said second represented expression comprises a symbol string.

59. The method of claim 57, wherein said signal values representing said first represented expression comprises a symbol string and said signal values representing said second represented expression comprises a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

60. The method of claim 56, and further comprising, prior to said transforming, employing operations with respect to said signal values representing said first represented expression.

61. The method of claim 60, and further comprising, prior to said transforming, employing operations with respect to said signal values representing said second represented expression.

62. The method of claim 56, and further comprising, subsequent to said transforming, employing operations with respect to said signal values representing said first represented expression.

63. The method of claim 62, and further comprising, subsequent to said transforming, employing operations with respect to said signal values representing said second represented expression.

64. The method of claim 56, wherein said signal values representing said first represented expression comprises an ASCII symbol string comprising one or more numerals and said signal values representing said second represented expression comprises a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

98. The method of claim 56, further comprising displaying said signal values representing said second expression.

74. An article comprising:

a non-transitory storage medium comprising instructions stored thereon to, said instructions being executable by one or more processors of one or more computing devices to;

access, from memory, signal values to represent a first expression;

transform said signal values to represent said first expression to signal values to represent a second expression, said represented expressions to have a common view for non-common expression types of said represented expressions and to have a non-common view for common expression types of said represented expressions,

said represented expressions to comprise at least one of the following expression types;

a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree or a symbol string; and

store, in said memory, said signal values to correspond to said represented second expression.

75. The article of claim 74, wherein for non-common expression types said represented expression to comprise a symbol string to include an ASCII symbol string that is to comprise one or more numerals.

76. The article of claim 75, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to comprise a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise a symbol string.

77. The article of claim 75, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to comprise a symbol string and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

The article of claim 74, wherein said storage medium further comprises instructions stored thereon, said instructions being executable by said one or more processors of one or more computing devices to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said first represented expression prior to said transformation.

The article of claim 78, wherein said storage medium further comprises instructions stored thereon, said instructions being executable by said one or more processors of said one or more computing devices to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said second represented expression prior to said transformation.

The article of claim 74, wherein said storage medium further comprises instructions stored thereon, said instructions being executable by said one or more processors of said one or more computing devices to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said first represented expression subsequent to said transformation.

The article of claim 74, wherein said storage medium further comprises instructions stored thereon, said instructions being executable by said one or more processors of said one or more computing devices to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said second represented expression subsequent to said transformation.

82. The article of claim 74, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to include an ASCII symbol string to comprise one or more numerals and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

99. The article of claim 74, wherein said storage medium further comprises instructions stored thereon, said instructions being executable by said one or more processors of said one or more computing devices to display said signal values to represent said second expression.

83. An apparatus comprising a computing device to convert signal values representing a first expression for more convenient processing and/or storage, the computing device to:

access, from memory, signal values to represent a first expression;

transform said signal values to represent said first expression to signal values to represent a second expression, said represented expressions having a common view for non-common expression types of said represented expressions and having a non-common view for common expression types of said represented expressions, said represented expressions to comprise at least one of the following expression types;

a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree or a symbol string; and

store, in said memory, said signal values to correspond to said represented second expression.

84. The apparatus of claim 83, wherein for non-common expression types said represented expressions to comprise a symbol string to include an ASCII symbol string that is to comprise one or more numerals.

85. The apparatus of claim 84, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to comprise a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise a symbol string.

86. The apparatus of claim 84, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to comprise a symbol string and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

87. The apparatus of claim 83, wherein said computing device is further to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said first represented expression prior to said transformation.

88. The apparatus of claim 87, wherein said computing device is further to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said second represented expression prior to said transformation.

89. The apparatus of claim 83, wherein said computing device is further to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said first represented expression subsequent to said transformation.

90. The apparatus of claim 89, wherein said computing device is further to employ operations with respect to said signal values to represent said second represented expression subsequent to said transformation.

The apparatus of claim 83, wherein said signal values to represent said first represented expression to include an ASCII symbol string to comprise one or more numerals and said signal values to represent said second represented expression to comprise at least one of a hierarchical edge and/or node labeled tree.

100. The apparatus of claim 87, wherein said computing device is further to display said signal values to represent said second expression.
