Abstract

A method and an apparatus for processing scheduling information in a terminal into which a plurality of forward carriers and reverse carriers are aggregated are provided. The method includes receiving a control message from a base station, the control message including information on a reverse carrier added by the carrier aggregation, and determining a new buffer state table to be used for reporting the state of buffers to the base station, based on the information included in the control message.

Claims

1. A method for performing uplink transmission by a terminal in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

grouping a plurality of uplink carriers based on a control message received from a base station;

determining a reference downlink carrier for the plurality of uplink carriers;

determining uplink transmission timing for the plurality of uplink carriers, based on the determined reference downlink carrier; and

performing uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink carriers, based on the determined uplink transmission timing.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the reference downlink carrier is assigned by the base station.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the determining uplink transmission further comprises adjusting frame boundaries of the plurality of uplink carriers based on a frame boundary of the reference downlink carrier.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the control message is a radio resource control (RRC) message.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the control message further comprises at least one of frequency information and bandwidth information associated with the plurality of uplink carriers.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein uplink grants for the plurality of uplink carriers are transmitted through at least one downlink carrier, and the at least one downlink carrier is indicated by the base station.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the terminal determines that no padding BSR is inserted in a MAC PDU, if the MAC PDU containing a regular BSR or a periodic BSR to be transmitted exists and the MAC PDU has a sufficient padding space to insert the padding BSR.

8. A terminal for performing uplink transmission in a wireless communication system, the terminal comprising:

a transceiver configured to communicate with a base station; and

a controller configured to control operations of grouping a plurality of uplink carriers, based on a control message received from a base station, determining a reference downlink carrier for the plurality of uplink carriers, determining uplink transmission timing for the plurality of uplink carriers, based on the determined reference downlink carrier, and performing uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink carriers based on the determined uplink transmission timing.

9. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the reference downlink carrier is assigned by the base station.

10. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller is configured to adjust frame boundaries of the plurality of uplink carriers based on a frame boundary of the reference downlink carrier.

11. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the control message is a radio resource control (RRC) message.

12. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the control message further comprises at least one of frequency information and bandwidth information associated with the plurality of uplink carriers.

13. The terminal of claim 8, wherein uplink grants for the plurality of uplink carriers are transmitted through at least one downlink carrier, and the at least one downlink carrier is indicated by the base station.

14. The terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller is configured to determine that no padding BSR is inserted in a MAC PDU, if the MAC PDU containing a regular BSR or a periodic BSR to be transmitted exists and the MAC PDU has a sufficient padding space to insert the padding BSR.

15. A method for scheduling uplink transmission by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a terminal, a control message comprising information for grouping a plurality of uplink carriers; and

receiving, from the terminal, uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink carriers, based on uplink transmission timing for the plurality of uplink carriers,

wherein a reference downlink carrier is determined for the plurality of uplink carriers, and the uplink transmission timing is determined based on the reference downlink carrier.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the reference downlink carrier is assigned by the base station.

17. The method of claim 15, wherein the control message is a radio resource control (RRC) message.

18. The method of claim 15, wherein the control message further comprises at least one of frequency information and bandwidth information associated with the plurality of uplink carriers.

19. The method of claim 15, wherein uplink grants for the plurality of uplink carriers are transmitted through at least one downlink carrier, and the at least one downlink carrier is indicated by the base station.

20. A base station for scheduling uplink transmission in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

a transceiver configured to communicate with a terminal; and

a controller configured to control operations of transmitting, to the terminal, a control message comprising information for grouping a plurality of uplink carriers, receiving, from the terminal, uplink transmission of the plurality of uplink carriers, based on uplink transmission timing for the plurality of uplink carriers,

wherein a reference downlink carrier is determined for the plurality of uplink carriers, and the uplink transmission timing is determined based on the reference downlink carrier.

21. The base station of claim 20, wherein the reference downlink carrier is assigned by the base station.

22. The base station of claim 20, wherein the control message is a radio resource control (RRC) message.

23. The base station of claim 20, wherein the control message further comprises at least one of frequency information and bandwidth information associated with the plurality of uplink carriers.

24. The base station of claim 20, wherein uplink grants for the plurality of uplink carriers are transmitted through at least one downlink carrier, and the at least one downlink carrier is indicated by the base station.
