Abstract
A novel integrated circuit (IC) that configurably distributes clocks from multiple clock sources to multiple sets of circuits is described. The IC includes multiple clock sources and multiple clock domains. Each clock domain includes a clock signal and a control signal. The clock signal is configurably selected from one of the multiple clock sources. The control signal is synchronized to the clock signal. The IC also includes multiple configurable circuits. A configurable circuit can configurably operate in one of the clock domains by selecting and using the control signal and the clock signal of the clock domain.

17. For an integrated circuit (IC) comprising a plurality of configurable circuits and a plurality of clock sources, a method comprising:
-
configuring a first configurable circuit to operate in a first clock domain, a second configurable circuit to operate in a second clock domain, a third configurable circuit to operate in a third clock domain, wherein operating in a clock domain comprises selecting a local clock and a control signal synchronized with the local clock; configuring the first clock domain to route from a first clock source as a local clock of the first clock domain; configuring the second clock domain to route from the first clock source as a local clock of the second clock domain; and configuring the third clock domain to route from a second clock source as a local clock of the third clock domain. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
