Abstract

Disclosed is a method for delivering emergent event notifications to a user'"'"'s Mobile Device. Map and Calendar applications are polled with correlations made between map locations and event information. Geo-Fence Boundaries are established for map locations which are inherited by their associated events. Penetration of a Geo-Fence Boundary by a Mobile Device running the Mobile Application triggers a search for events that are associated with the established Geo-Fence Boundary. Filtered Notifications of event options of interest to the user are transmitted to the Mobile Device based on pre-established and dynamic variables and whether the user can arrive at the event while it is underway. Upon selection of an event by the user, the Mobile Device provides route and navigation guidance to the selected location.

Claims

1. A method for delivering emergent event Notifications to a user'"'"'s Mobile Device, which the user would otherwise be unfamiliar with due to geographical location, comprising

Creating a server to integrate application protocol interfaces “

with a database, perform analysis of data elements, and provide ongoing communications with Mobile Device and application;

Enabling user'"'"'s Mobile Device to use method through the use of application software;

Associating event Calendar information with a location on a Map;

Defining a geographically limited area to said location on a Map to govern timing of Notifications and governing which event information is polled when a user crosses that boundary;

Filtering of event information to deliver relevant and timely event Notifications, which are dependent on how quickly the user is moving, and/or dynamic Geo-Fence Boundaries;

Transmitting and delivering Notifications to a mobile display, allowing user to select options from filtered list or points on a Map, and providing route and navigation guidance to selected location;

Displaying of relevant information about the event once the user reaches the location.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein a plurality of events Calendar information are associated with a plurality of locations on a Map.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein said database is updated bi-directionally by server polling Mobile Device for designated fields of interest;

Mobile Device communicating said fields of interest to server;

server automatically assigning a unique ID and GPS coordinate to each location or event corresponding to user'"'"'s preferences for said designated fields of interest and for user interaction data.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein correlations are made between said Map Locations and said events using unique IDs:

manually associated to said Map Locations and events by Map or Calendar administrators;

automatically assigned to GPS coordinates of said Map Locations and said events using distance parameters;

automatically assigned to GPS coordinates of said Maps Locations and said events using, dynamically changing traveling speeds or moving Geo-Fence Boundaries, or anchoring IDs to one Map but allowing association with another Map.

5. The method of claim 4 wherein correlations are made for between one said Map Location and one or more said events.

6. The method of claim 4 wherein said Geo-Fence Boundaries are set for said Map Locations that govern what events are polled when a Mobile Device penetrates said Geo-Fence Boundary;

and said Geo-Fence Boundaries set or adjusted based on manual input from an event administrator, manual input of user preference, manual input from a Map administrator, or automatically, based on speed and location of user.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein penetration of a Geo-Fence Boundary by a Mobile Device causes the server to poll only events that are associated with the area inside the established Geo-Fence Boundary.

8. The method of claim 3 wherein said filtering method is initiated on the polled events within the Geo-Fence Boundary using variables such as the user preferences, event location, date, event start and stop time, user'"'"'s location, and travel time.

9. The method of claim 2 wherein the server manages Notifications, Mobile Device application software updates, and user interaction data;

and automatically generates a location on said Map for each of a plurality of event, if there is no Map Location associated to each said event.

10. The method of claim 9 wherein the user receives Notifications in an emergent fashion;

and the user controls the frequency of Notifications and Mobile Device application software updates may be managed by user preferences.

11. The method of claim 8 wherein relevant filtered content is displayed on the user'"'"'s mobile display.

12. The method of claim 2 wherein by selecting an event, the application downloads the location of said event;

the application transmits the location to the server; and

the server activates the device'"'"'s navigation system, using said location as the destination, directing the user to the event.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein by arriving at a selected event the relevant information and promotional information is brought up on the display of the user'"'"'s device.

14. A plurality of non-transitory computer readable medium, that, when executed in concert, provides for timely delivery of event Notifications to a user'"'"'s Mobile Device, with which the user would otherwise be unfamiliar with due to geographical limitation, comprising

Creating a server to integrate API'"'"'s with a database, perform analysis of data elements, and providing ongoing communications with Mobile Device and application;

Enabling user'"'"'s Mobile Device by storing application software thereon;

Associating event Calendar information with a location on a Map;

Defining a Geo-Fence Boundary to said location on a Map to govern timing of Notifications and determine which event information is polled when a user crosses that Geo-Fence Boundary;

Filtering of event information to deliver relevant and timely event Notifications, which are dependent on how quickly the user is moving, and/or dynamic Geo-Fence Boundaries;

Transmitting and delivering Notifications to a mobile display, allowing a user to select options from a filtered list or points on a Map, and providing route and navigation guidance to selected location; and

Displaying of relevant information about the event once the user reaches the Map Location.

15. The invention of claim 14 wherein a plurality of events Calendar information are associated with a plurality of locations on a Map.

16. The invention of claim 15 wherein said database is updated bi-directionally by server polling Mobile Device for designated fields of interest;

Mobile Device communicating said fields of interest to server;

server automatically assigning a unique ID and GPS coordinate to each location or event corresponding to user'"'"'s preferences for said designated fields of interest and for user interaction data.

17. The invention of claim 16 wherein correlations are made between said Map Locations and said events using unique IDs:

manually associated to said Map Locations and events by Map or Calendar administrators;

automatically assigned to GPS coordinates of said Map Locations and said events using distance parameters;

automatically assigned to GPS coordinates of said Map Locations and said events using, dynamically changing traveling speeds or moving Geo-Fence Boundaries, or anchoring IDs to one Map but allowing association with another Map.

18. The invention of claim 17 wherein correlations are made for between one said Map Location and one or more said events.

19. The invention of claim 17 wherein said Geo-Fence Boundaries are set for said Map Locations that govern what events are polled when a Mobile Device penetrates said Geo-Fence Boundary;

and said Geo-Fence Boundaries set or adjusted based on manual input from an event administrator, manual input of user preference, manual input from a Map administrator, or automatically, based on speed and location of user.

23. The invention of claim 22 wherein the user receives notifications in an emergent fashion;

and the user controls the frequency of Notifications and Mobile Device application software updates may be managed by user preferences.

24. The invention of claim 21 wherein relevant filtered content is displayed on the user'"'"'s mobile display.

25. The invention of claim 15 wherein by selecting an event, the application downloads the location of said event;

the application transmits the location to the server; and

the server activates the Mobile Device'"'"'s navigation system, using said location as the destination, directing the user to the event.

26. The invention of claim 25 wherein by arriving at a selected event the relevant information and promotional information is brought up on the display of the user'"'"'s Mobile Device.
