1. An apparatus to determine a body temperature from a forehead source point, the apparatus comprising:

  • a housing;

    a non-contact electromagnetic sensor operably mounted to the housing, the non-contact electromagnetic sensor being operable to receive electromagnetic energy from the forehead source point of a subject and operable to generate a numerical representation of the electromagnetic energy of the forehead source point;

    a printed circuit board mounted in the housing, electrically coupled to the non-contact electromagnetic sensor and operable to determine the body temperature of the subject from the numerical representation of the electromagnetic energy of the forehead source point,wherein determining the body temperature of the subject includes calculating the body temperature in reference to a numerical representation of the electromagnetic energy of the forehead source point, a mathematical formula of an ambient temperature reading, an ambient air temperature reading, a representation of a calibration difference and a bias in consideration of the forehead source point; and

    a button operably coupled to the printed circuit board.
