Abstract

In various example embodiments, a system and method for a cross selling platform are presented. A request for a product listing triggered by a user may be received. The request for the product listing may include product information corresponding to an in-store product located at a store of a merchant. A related product listing may be identified based on the product information. Each product listing of the plurality of product listings may correspond to a merchant product. The product listing may be recommended to the user for sale.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

a memory and at least one processor;

a product listing module to receive a request for a product listing triggered by a user, the request for the product listing including product information corresponding to an in-store product located at a store of a merchant;

an analysis module, executable by the memory and the at least one processor, to identify a related product listing from a plurality of product listings based on the product information, each product listing of the plurality of product listings corresponds to a merchant product; and

a recommendation module to recommend the related product listing for sale to the user.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the product listing module is further to:

receive the plurality of product listings from the merchant;

communicate a fulfillment request that corresponds to the request for the product listing to the merchant;

receive a response to the fulfillment request from the merchant; and

identify a product listing from the plurality of product listings received from the merchant based on the response to the fulfillment request.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the product listing module is further to:

receive the plurality of product listings from third party merchants;

communicate a fulfillment request that corresponds to the request for the product listing to the third party merchants;

receive bids that correspond to the fulfillment request from the third party merchants;

determine a winning merchant based on the received bids; and

identify a product listing that corresponds to the winning merchant from the plurality of product listings received from the third party merchants.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the identifying a related product listing includes using merchant criteria that includes a criterion to prevent product listings of products specified by the merchant from being identified.

5. A method, comprising:

receiving a request for a product listing triggered by a user, the request for the product listing including product information corresponding to an in-store product located at a store of a merchant;

identifying, using a hardware processor, a related product listing from a plurality of product listings based on the product information, each product listing of the plurality of product listings corresponding to a merchant product; and

recommending the related product listing for sale to the user.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

receiving the plurality of product listings from the merchant;

communicating a fulfillment request corresponding to the request for the product listing to the merchant;

receiving a response to the fulfillment request from the merchant; and

identifying a product listing from the plurality of product listings received from the merchant based on the response to the fulfillment request.

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

receiving the plurality of product listings from third party merchants;

communicating a fulfillment request corresponding to the request for the product listing to the third party merchants;

receiving bids corresponding to the fulfillment request from the third party merchants;

determining a winning merchant based on the received bids; and

identifying a product listing corresponding to the winning merchant from the plurality of product listings received from the third party merchants.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein the merchant product is located at the store of the merchant.

9. The method of claim 5, wherein the user is located at the merchant store.

10. The method of claim 5, wherein the identifying a related product listing includes using merchant criteria including a criterion to prevent product listings of products specified by the merchant from being identified.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the merchant criteria includes a criterion to designate product listings of products specified by the merchant to be identified.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the merchant criteria includes a criterion to designate product listings of merchants within a geographic boundary to be identified.

13. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

receiving a purchase request corresponding to the related product listing from the user; and

facilitating a transaction corresponding to the purchase request.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the transaction is performed at the merchant store using a point of sale device of the merchant.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

storing the related product listing corresponding to the purchase request, to be used in additional analysis in the future.

16. The method of claim 5, wherein the request for product listings includes contextual information associated with the store of the merchant, the in-store product, and the user.

17. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

accessing user information corresponding to the user, the identifying related product listings includes using the user information.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the user information includes at least one of user demographic information, purchase history, and location information.

19. The method of claim 5, wherein the request for the product listings is triggered by at least one of the user purchasing the in-store product at the store of the merchant, the user scanning the in-store product at the merchant store, and the user moving within a geographic boundary.

20. A non-transitory machine readable medium that stores instructions that, when executed by a machine, cause the machine to:

receive a request for a product listing triggered by a user, the request for the product listing including product information corresponding to an in-store product located at a store of a merchant;

identify a related product listing from a plurality of product listings based on the product information, each product listing of the plurality of product listings corresponds to a merchant product; and

recommend the related product listing for sale to the user.
