Abstract

An example method of integrating a plurality of heterogeneous peer-to-peer communication participants includes retrieving from a first input queue coupled to a duplex service a first message. The first message includes a message identifier and is from a sender. The method also includes applying a first operation on the first message, determining a first output of the first message based on the first operation, and sending the first output of the first message to a target. The method further includes retrieving from a second input queue coupled to the duplex service a second message. The second message includes the message identifier and is from a target. The method also includes applying a second operation on the second message, determining a second output of the second message based on the second operation, and sending the second output of the second message to the sender.

Claims

1. A method of integrating a plurality of heterogeneous peer-to-peer communication participants, comprising:

retrieving from a first input queue coupled to a duplex service a first message, the first message including a message identifier and being from a sender;

applying at the duplex service a first operation on the first message;

determining a first output of the first message based on the first operation;

sending the first output of the first message to a target;

retrieving from a second input queue coupled to the duplex service a second message, the second message including the message identifier and being from a target;

applying at the duplex service a second operation on the second message;

determining a second output of the second message based on the second operation; and

sending the second output of the second message to the sender of the first message.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the applying the first operation comprises:

applying the first operation on an object;

saving a state of the object in a memory;

identifying the message identifier in the second message;

retrieving the state of the object from the memory; and

using the retrieved state to apply the second operation on the object.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the first operation is an inverse operation of the second operation.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the first operation is the same operation as the second operation.

5. The method of claim 1, further including:

sending the first output to a service pipeline including a plurality of services for processing;

receiving a third output of the processed first output of the service pipeline; and

sending the third output to a second target.

6. A system for integrating a plurality of heterogeneous peer-to-peer communication participants, comprising:

a duplex service residing in a messaging bus;

a first input queue coupled to the duplex service, wherein the duplex service retrieves a first message from the first input queue and applies a first operation on the first message, and wherein the first message is from a sender and includes a message identifier; and

a second input queue coupled to the duplex service, wherein the duplex service retrieves a second message from the second input queue and applies a second operation on the second message, and wherein the second message is from a target and includes the message identifier.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the duplex service includes a first execution engine and a second execution engine, wherein the first execution engine determines a first output of the first message based on the first operation and sends the first output of the first message to the target, and wherein the second execution engine determines a second output of the second message based on the second operation and sends the second output of the second message to the sender of the first message.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein the first execution engine applies the first operation on an object and the duplex service saves a state of the object in a memory.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein the second execution engine identifies the message identifier in the second message and retrieves, based on the identification, the state of the object from the memory and uses the state to apply the second operation on the object.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein after the second execution engine applies the second operation on the object the duplex service marks the memory for deletion.

11. The system of claim 8, wherein after a time period has elapsed, the duplex service marks the memory for deletion.

12. The system of claim 6, wherein the messaging bus is coupled to a first gateway and a second gateway, and wherein each gateway has a configuration file that indicates a name of the respective gateway, a type of protocol accepted by the respective gateway, a port on which the respective gateway listens, an output destination to where to send one or more messages received from a first internal duplex service residing in the messaging bus, and a second internal duplex service to where to send one or more messages from external users.

13. The system of claim 6, wherein the sender is a first gateway coupled to the messaging bus, and the first gateway converts a received message into the first message understood by the duplex service.

14. The system of claim 6, wherein the sender is a second service residing in the messaging bus.

15. The system of claim 6, wherein the target is a second gateway coupled to the messaging bus.

16. The system of claim 6, wherein the target is a second service residing in the messaging bus.

17. The system of claim 6, wherein the first operation is an inverse operation of the second operation.

18. The system of claim 6, wherein the first operation is the same operation as the second operation.

19. The system of claim 6, further including:

a router that is coupled to a configured service pipeline including a plurality of services, wherein the router is the first target and receives the first output, sends the first output to the service pipeline for processing, receives a third output of the processed first output of the service pipeline, and sends the third output to a second target.

20. A machine-readable medium comprising a plurality of machine-readable instructions that when executed by one or more processors is adapted to cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:

retrieving from a first input queue coupled to a duplex service a first message, the first message including a message identifier and being from a sender;

applying at the duplex service a first operation on the first message;

determining a first output of the first message based on the first operation;

sending the first output of the first message to a target;

retrieving from a second input queue coupled to the duplex service a second message, the second message including the message identifier and being from a target;

applying at the duplex service a second operation on the second message;

determining a second output of the second message based on the second operation; and

sending the second output of the second message to a sender of the first message.
