Abstract

A method and system for micro-betting. One or more micro-bets can be electronically placed with respect to one or more micro-events associated with an event during a round of micro-betting. One or more wages with respect to the micro-bet(s) can be managed and controlled during the round of micro-betting. The wager(s) can be managed and controlled remote from electronically placing the micro-bet(s) during the round of micro-betting. Additionally, a portion of a profit can be automatically obtained with respect to the round of micro-bets in exchange for the aforementioned managing and controlling of the wager(s) with respect to the micro-bet(s) during the round of micro-betting.

Claims

1. A system for micro-betting, comprising a computer including data network access and programmed to analyze gaming activity to develop microbetting opportunities, authorize remote portable devices to engage in microbetting with the server, provide microbetting opportunities to authorized portable devices, receive and manage microbets placed by remote devices, and track bets and outcomes.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein gaming activity can include at least one of live sporting events occurring at a sports venue, political events, and computer gaming activity.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein data derived from analysis of gaming activity can be formatted for delivery to remote portable devices for use by users of the remote portable devices.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the remote portable devices can include data-enabled glasses.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein said system further comprises a sports venue including a network of beacons dispersed throughout the sports venue to support bi-directional communications with remote portable devices engaged in microbetting.

6. The system of claim 1, further comprising said server programmed to authorize portable devices by determining at least one of user name, user passcode, user age and user location based on a location of the portable device.

7. A method for microbetting, comprising:

providing a server with data network access and programmed to analyze gaming activity to develop microbetting opportunities, authorize remote portable devices to engage in microbetting with the server, provide microbetting opportunities to authorized portable devices, receive and manage microbets placed by remote devices, and track bets and outcomes;

using the sever to analyze gaming activity to develop microbetting opportunities, authorize portable devices to engage in microbetting, receive microbets from portable devices, manage microbets placed by remote devices by tracking bets and outcomes, and providing betting results to remote devices.

8. A method for microbetting in claim 7, wherein said server is further programmed to authorize portable devices by determining at least one of user name, user passcode, user age and user location based on a location of the portable device.

9. A method for microbetting in claim 8, wherein said server authorizes portable devices by determining at least one of user name, user passcode, user age and user location based on a location of the portable device.
