Abstract

In an approach to storing message content, one or more computer processors receive a selection of message content. The one or more computer processors receive a selection of a category associated with the selected message content. The one or more computer processors store the selected message content associated with the selected category.

Claims

1. A method for storing message content, the method comprising:

receiving, by one or more computer processors, a selection of message content;

receiving, by the one or more computer processors, a selection of a category associated with the selected message content; and

storing, by the one or more computer processors, the selected message content associated with the selected category.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting, by one or more computer processors, an outgoing message created by a user;

determining, by the one or more computer processors, whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining, by the one or more computer processors, that message content related to the outgoing message is stored, alerting, by the one or more computer processors, a user that related message content is stored;

retrieving, by the one or more computer processors, the related stored message content; and

reusing, by the one or more computer processors, the related stored message content in the outgoing message.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein determining, by the one or more computer processors, whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored further comprises determining, by one or more computer processors, whether a portion of the outgoing message is associated with a keyword of a category of stored message content.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein alerting, by one or more computer processors, a user that related message content is stored comprises at least one of:

emitting an audible sound, inserting the related message content into the outgoing message, displaying flashing text, and displaying a pop up window.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting, by one or more computer processors, an outgoing message created by a user;

determining, by the one or more computer processors, whether content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining, by the one or more computer processors, that content related to the outgoing message is not stored, determining, by the one or more computer processors, whether a request for stored message content is received;

responsive to determining, by the one or more computer processors, a request for stored message content is received, retrieving, by the one or more computer processors, the stored message content; and

reusing, by the one or more computer processors, the stored message content in the outgoing message.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein receiving a selection of a category associated with the message content further comprises:

determining, by the one or more computer processors, a category associated with the message content;

alerting, by the one or more computer processors, a user of the associated category; and

receiving, by the one or more computer processors, a selection of the associated category.

The method of claim 1, wherein storing, by the one or more computer processors, the selected message content further comprises storing, by the one or more computer processors, identifying information related to the selected message content, wherein identifying information related to the selected message content includes at least one of a message sender, a date of message receipt, an original message content, and at least one portion of the original message content.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein message content includes one or more of text, graphics and video.

9. A computer program product for storing message content, the computer program product comprising:

one or more computer readable storage media and program instructions stored on the one or more computer readable storage media, the program instructions comprising;

program instructions to receive a selection of message content;

program instructions to receive a selection of a category associated with the selected message content; and

program instructions to store the selected message content associated with the selected category.

10. The computer program product of claim 9, further comprising:

program instructions to detect an outgoing message created by a user;

program instructions to determine whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining that message content related to the outgoing message is stored, program instructions to alert a user that related message content is stored;

program instructions to retrieve the related stored message content; and

program instructions to reuse the related stored message content in the outgoing message.

11. The computer program product of claim 10, wherein program instructions to determine whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored further comprises program instructions to determine whether a portion of the outgoing message is associated with a keyword of a category of stored message content.

12. The computer program product of claim 10, wherein program instructions to alert a user that related message content is stored comprises at least one of:

program instructions to emit an audible sound, program instructions to insert the related message content into the outgoing message, program instructions to display flashing text, and program instructions to display a pop up window.

13. The computer program product of claim 9, further comprising:

program instructions to detect an outgoing message created by a user;

program instructions to determine whether content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining that content related to the outgoing message is not stored, program instructions to determine whether a request for stored message content is received;

responsive to determining a request for stored message content is received, program instructions to retrieve the stored message content; and

program instructions to reuse the stored message content in the outgoing message.

14. The computer program product of claim 9, wherein program instructions to receive a selection of a category associated with the message content further comprises:

program instructions to determine a category associated with the message content;

program instructions to alert a user of the associated category; and

program instructions to receive a selection of the associated category.

15. A computer system for storing message content, the computer system comprising:

one or more computer processors;

one or more computer readable storage media;

program instructions stored on the computer readable storage media for execution by at least one of the one or more processors, the program instructions comprising;

program instructions to receive a selection of message content;

program instructions to receive a selection of a category associated with the selected message content; and

program instructions to store the selected message content associated with the selected category.

16. The computer system of claim 15, further comprising:

program instructions to detect an outgoing message created by a user;

program instructions to determine whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining that message content related to the outgoing message is stored, program instructions to alert a user that related message content is stored;

program instructions to retrieve the related stored message content; and

program instructions to reuse the related stored message content in the outgoing message.

17. The computer system of claim 16, wherein program instructions to determine whether message content related to the outgoing message is stored further comprises program instructions to determine whether a portion of the outgoing message is associated with a keyword of a category of stored message content.

18. The computer system of claim 16, wherein program instructions to alert a user that related message content is stored comprises at least one of:

program instructions to emit an audible sound, program instructions to insert the related message content into the outgoing message, program instructions to display flashing text, and program instructions to display a pop up window.

19. The computer system of claim 15, further comprising:

program instructions to detect an outgoing message created by a user;

program instructions to determine whether content related to the outgoing message is stored;

responsive to determining that content related to the outgoing message is not stored, program instructions to determine whether a request for stored message content is received;

responsive to determining a request for stored message content is received, program instructions to retrieve the stored message content; and

program instructions to reuse the stored message content in the outgoing message.

20. The computer system of claim 15, wherein program instructions to receive a selection of a category associated with the message content further comprises:

program instructions to determine a category associated with the message content;

program instructions to alert a user of the associated category; and

program instructions to receive a selection of the associated category.
