1. A system having a display and stored executable instructions, comprising:
- 1) connection component for connecting said system to an electronic device and/or a communication network;
2) sensing means for sensing the eye of a user and determining whether said user looks at a direction toward said display;
3) first timing means for measuring an idling time period during which said system remains idle or standby;
4) second timing means for measuring a watching time period during which said user looks at a direction toward said display, said watching time period overlapping a segment of said idling time period;
5) presentation means for presenting a plurality of contents using said display, said contents arranged by instructions sent to said system or prearranged by said user; and
6) said system configured such that said display starts showing said contents when said idling time period and said watching time period go beyond a first and second predetermined value respectively.

Abstract
Systems, methods and apparatus for presenting information using idle time slot. In an aspect, when a standby or idle device detects the gaze of a user at it, it starts showing scheduled contents on its display automatically. In another aspect, when a standby or idle device detects taps of a user on it, it activates gaze sensing. If the gaze direction of user is at the device, it begins to show scheduled contents automatically. The contents may include advertisements.

6. A system having a display and stored executable instructions, comprising:
-
1) connection component for connecting said system to an electronic device and/or a communication network; 2) first sensing means for sensing user input generated by a user involving physical movement of said user; 3) second sensing means for sensing the eye of said user and determining whether said user looks at a direction toward said display, the sensing activity via said second sensing means triggered by said input; 4) first timing means for measuring an idling time period during which said system remains idle or standby; 5) second timing means for measuring a watching time period during which said user looks at a direction toward said display, said watching time period overlapping a segment of said idling time period; 6) presentation means for presenting a plurality of contents using said display, said contents arranged by instructions sent to said system or prearranged by said user; and 7) said system configured such that said display starts showing said contents when said idling time period and said watching time period go beyond a first and second predetermined value respectively. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10)

11. A method performed for presenting information comprising:
-
1) providing an electronic device having a display and stored executable instructions; 2) measuring an idling time period during which said device remains idle or standby; 3) sensing the eye of a user and determining whether said user looks at a direction toward said device; 4) measuring a watching time period during which said user looks at a direction toward said device, said watching time period overlapping a segment of said idling time period; 5) presenting a plurality of contents using said display, said contents arranged by instructions sent to said device or prearranged by said user; and 6) said method arranged such that the presenting step is performed when said idling time period and said watching time period exceed a first and second predetermined value respectively. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)
