Abstract

Methods and systems are described for transmitting data using various selected resources. For example, first one or more resources may be selected based at least in part on feedback from a first network node. A second network node may cause first data to be transmitted using the selected one or more resources. The second network node may also cause second data to be transmitted using second one or more resources. The resources may comprise, for example, tones, time slots, time-frequency channels, time resources, and/or frequency resources.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

receiving feedback from a first network node;

selecting, based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, first one or more resources, of a plurality of resources, for transmission of first data, wherein the plurality of resources comprises tones and time slots; and

causing, by a second network node via at least one antenna, orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless transmission of the first data using the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources and of second data using second one or more resources of the plurality of resources.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the feedback received from the first network node comprises a measure of channel quality, and the selecting comprises selecting the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining a measure of channel quality based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, wherein the selecting comprises selecting the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the feedback received from the first network node is based at least in part on a signal wirelessly received by the first network node.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the selecting comprises selecting a range of the tones based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising selecting the second one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on at least one of:

feedback received from a third network node and the feedback received from the first network node.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one antenna comprises a plurality of antennas, and the causing comprises causing, via the plurality of antennas, the orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless transmission as at least one multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

mapping the first data to the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources and mapping the second data to the second one or more resources of the plurality of resources.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

performing, after the mapping, an inverse fast-Fourier transform (iFFT) of the first data and the second data.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one antenna comprises a plurality of antennas, and the method further comprises mapping the first data and the second data to the plurality of antennas based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the second data is redundant to the first data.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the second data is different from the first data.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the selecting the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources comprises selecting a first range of the tones based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, the method further comprising:

selecting a second range of the tones based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node;

distributing the first data across the first range of the tones; and

distributing the second data across the second range of the tones.

14. A method comprising:

receiving feedback from a first network node;

selecting for transmission of first data, based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, a first subset of a plurality of resources, wherein the plurality of resources comprises tones and time slots; and

causing, by a second network node via at least one antenna, orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless transmission of the first data using the first subset of the plurality of resources and of second data using a second subset of the plurality of resources.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the feedback received from the first network node comprises a measure of channel quality, and the selecting comprises selecting the first subset of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

16. The method of claim 14, further comprising determining a measure of channel quality based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, wherein the selecting comprises selecting the first subset of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

17. The method of claim 14, wherein the selecting comprises selecting a range of the tones based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

18. The method of claim 14, wherein the selecting comprises selecting a range of the time slots based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

19. The method of claim 14, further comprising selecting the second subset of the plurality of resources based at least in part on feedback received from a third network node.

20. The method of claim 14, wherein the at least one antenna comprises a plurality of antennas, and the method further comprises mapping the first data and the second data to the plurality of antennas based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

21. A method comprising:

receiving feedback from a first network node;

selecting, based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, first one or more resources, of a plurality of resources, for transmission of first data, wherein the plurality of resources comprises a plurality of time-frequency channels; and

causing, by a second network node via at least one antenna, orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless transmission of the first data using the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources and of second data using second one or more resources of the plurality of resources.

22. The method of claim 21, wherein the feedback received from the first network node comprises a measure of channel quality, and the selecting comprises selecting the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

23. The method of claim 21, further comprising determining a measure of channel quality based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, wherein the selecting comprises selecting the first one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

24. The method of claim 21, further comprising selecting the second one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

25. The method of claim 21, further comprising selecting the second one or more resources of the plurality of resources based at least in part on feedback received from a third network node.

26. The method of claim 21, wherein the at least one antenna comprises a plurality of antennas, and the method further comprises mapping the first data and the second data to the plurality of antennas based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

27. A method comprising:

receiving feedback from a first network node;

selecting, based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node, first one or more transmission resources, of a plurality of transmission resources, for transmission of first data, wherein the plurality of transmission resources comprises frequency resources and time resources; and

causing, by a second network node via at least one antenna, orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless transmission of the first data using the first one or more transmission resources of the plurality of transmission resources and of second data using second one or more transmission resources of the plurality of transmission resources.

28. The method of claim 27, wherein the feedback received from the first network node comprises a measure of channel quality, and the selecting comprises selecting the first one or more transmission resources of the plurality of transmission resources based at least in part on the measure of channel quality.

29. The method of claim 27, wherein the selecting comprises selecting a portion of the time resources based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.

30. The method of claim 27, wherein the selecting comprises selecting a portion of the frequency resources based at least in part on the feedback received from the first network node.
