Abstract

According to one embodiment of the present specification, a method for reporting performance of a terminal in a mobile communication system includes the steps of: receiving a request for performance reporting from a base station; determining an indicator of whether a delay time related operation that the terminal supports is in correspondence with the request which corresponds to a pre-set condition; and transmitting a message including the determined indicator to the base station. According to one aspect of the present specification, the size of the performance reporting message is minimized in reporting the performance of the terminal.

Claims

1. A capability report method of a terminal in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a capability report request from a base station;

determining an indicator indicating whether a delay time-related operation supported by the terminal fulfils a predetermined condition in response to the request; and

transmitting a message including the determined indicator to the base station.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein determining the indicator comprises setting the indicator to a value based on a number of delay time groups supported by the terminal in a band on which the terminal performs communication.

The method of claim 1, wherein determining the indicator comprises setting the indicator to a predetermined value when the terminal can group serving cells belonging to a same band into up to 2 delay time groups on a band on which the terminal performs communication or when the terminal can group one delay time group per band in different band on which the terminal performs communication.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising skipping, when the terminal does not support multiple delay time groups in the band on which the terminal performs communication, transmitting additional information related to the delay time,

wherein determining the indicator comprises setting, when the delay time-related operation supported by the UE does not fulfil the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value.

The method of claim 1, further comprising transmitting, when the terminal supports additional delay time groups, a message including supplementary information indicating at least one of whether the two different bands on which the terminal performs communication can be configured into same delay time group and whether two or more delay time groups can be configured on the band on which the terminal performs communication,

wherein determining the indicator comprises setting, when the delay time-related operation supported by the terminal does not fulfils the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value.

6. A terminal capability report reception method of a base station in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting a capability report request to a terminal; and

receiving a message including an indicator determined depending on whether a delay time-related operation supported by the terminal fulfils a predetermined condition from the terminal.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the terminal sets the indicator to a value banded on a number of delay time groups supported by the UE in a band on which the UE performs communication.

The method of claim 6, wherein the terminal sets the indicator to a predetermined value when the terminal can group serving cells belonging to a same band into up to 2 delay time groups on a band on which the terminal performs communication or when the terminal can group one delay time group per band in different band on which the terminal performs communication.

The method of claim 6, where the terminal sets, when the delay time-related operation supported by the UE does not fulfil the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and skips, when the terminal does not support multiple delay time groups in the band on which the terminal performs communication, transmitting additional information related to the delay time.

The method of claim 6, wherein the terminal sets, when the delay time-related operation supported by the terminal does not fulfils the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and transmits, when the terminal supports additional delay time groups, a message including supplementary information indicating at least one of whether the two different bands on which the terminal performs communication can be configured into same delay time group and whether two or more delay time groups can be configured on the band on which the terminal performs communication.

11. A terminal for reporting capability in a mobile communication system, the terminal comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive signals to and from a base station; and

a controller configured to control the transceiver to receive a capability report request from the base station, determine an indicator indicating whether a delay time-related operation supported by the terminal fulfils a predetermined condition in response to the request, and control the transceiver to transmit a message including the determined indicator to the base station.

12. The terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to set the indicator to a value based on a number of delay time groups supported by the terminal in a band on which the terminal performs communication.

The terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to set the indicator to a predetermined value when the terminal can group serving cells belonging to a same band into up to 2 delay time groups on a band on which the terminal performs communication or when the terminal can group one delay time group per band in different band on which the terminal performs communication.

The terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to set, when the delay time-related operation supported by the UE does not fulfil the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and control the transceiver to skip, when the terminal does not support multiple delay time groups in the band on which the terminal performs communication, transmitting additional information related to the delay time.

The terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is configured to set, when the delay time-related operation supported by the terminal does not fulfils the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and control the transceiver to transmit, when the terminal supports additional delay time groups, a message including supplementary information indicating at least one of whether the two different bands on which the terminal performs communication can be configured into same delay time group and whether two or more delay time groups can be configured on the band on which the terminal performs communication,

16. A base station for receiving terminal capability report in a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive to and from a terminal; and

a controller configured to control the transceiver to transmit a capability report request to a terminal and receive a message including an indicator determined depending on whether a delay time-related operation supported by the terminal fulfils a predetermined condition from the terminal.

17. The base station of claim 16, wherein the terminal is configured to set the indicator to a value banded on a number of delay time groups supported by the UE in a band on which the UE performs communication.

The base station of claim 16, wherein the terminal is configured to set the indicator to a predetermined value when the terminal can group serving cells belonging to a same band into up to 2 delay time groups on a band on which the terminal performs communication or when the terminal can group one delay time group per band in different band on which the terminal performs communication.

The base station of claim 16, wherein the terminal is configured to set, when the delay time-related operation supported by the UE does not fulfil the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and skip, when the terminal does not support multiple delay time groups in the band on which the terminal performs communication, transmitting additional information related to the delay time.

The base station of claim 16, wherein the terminal is configured to set, when the delay time-related operation supported by the terminal does not fulfils the predetermined condition, the indicator to a predetermined value and transmit, when the terminal supports additional delay time groups, a message including supplementary information indicating at least one of whether the two different bands on which the terminal performs communication can be configured into same delay time group and whether two or more delay time groups can be configured on the band on which the terminal performs communication.
