Abstract

A wiper blade is presented having a wiper strip, a primary frame, and a pair of secondary frames. The primary frame having a connection device capable of connecting the wiper blade to a wiper arm disposed on a top side of the primary frame, and a connection structure disposed, on opposite ends of the primary frame. The pair of secondary frame, each have a central pivot connection portion and two leg portions extending from the central pivot connection portion, a pivot structure disposed on the central pivot connection portion of the secondary frames wherein the pivot structure of the secondary frames are connected to the connection structures on the ends of the primary frame. A wiper blade is also presented having a wiper strip, a force distribution structure having opposite ends, and a cover.

Claims

1. A wiper blade comprising:

a wiper strip,

a force distribution structure having opposite ends; and

a cover including a center section and two side sections, each side section on an opposed side of the center section, and side section extending to and covering an end of the force distribution structure.

2. The wiper blade of claim 1, wherein the side sections are made from a softer, more elastic material than the center section.

3. The wiper blade of claim 2, wherein the side sections have a Shore hardness value at or between 60 and 90, and the center section has a Shore hardness value at or above 90.

4. The wiper blade of claim 3, wherein the side sections have a Shore hardness value at or between 80 and 88.

5. The wiper blade of claim 1 further comprising one or more internal grips provided on an inner surface of the center section of the cover for gripping the force distribution structure.

6. The wiper blade of claim 1 further comprising one or more internal grips provided on an inner surface of each of the side sections for gripping the force distribution structure.

7. The wiper blade of claim 6, wherein each end of the force distribution structure is a chamfered “

T”

structure, and each of the internal grips is an end grip with a slotted pocket for receiving one of the ends of the force distribution structure.

8. A wiper blade comprising:

a wiper strip,

a force distribution structure having opposite ends; and

a cover including

a center segment having opposed ends, and

two secondary cover segments having opposed outer and inner ends, the inner end of each secondary cover segment connected to one of the ends of the center segments.

9. The wiper blade of claim 8, wherein each secondary cover segment is pivotable with respect to the center segment.

10. The wiper blade of claim 8 wherein the center segment comprises a receiving channel and a seating recess.

11. The wiper blade of claim 10 wherein the secondary cover segments comprise a connecting wall which contains a projection that is capable of passing through the receiving channel and into the seating recess in the center segment.

12. The wiper blade of claim 8 wherein the secondary cover segment comprises a connecting wall that is narrowed.

13. The wiper blade of claim 11 wherein the connecting wall in the secondary cover segments tapers in order to allow the insertion of the projection into the seating recess.

14. A wiper blade comprising:

a wiper strip,

a force distribution structure having opposite ends; and

a cover including

a center segment having opposed ends,

two secondary cover segments having opposed outer and inner ends, the inner end of each secondary cover segment connected to one of the ends of the center segments, and

two tertiary cover segments having opposed outer and inner ends, the inner end of each tertiary cover segment connected to one an outer end of one of the secondary cover segments, and the tertiary cover segments extend to and cover an end of the force distribution structure.

15. The wiper blade of claim 14, wherein each secondary cover segment is pivotable with respect to the center segment.

16. The wiper blade of claim 14 wherein the center segment comprises a receiving channel and a seating recess.

17. The wiper blade of claim 15 wherein the secondary cover segments comprise a connecting wall which contains a projection that is capable of passing through the receiving channel and into the seating recess in the center segment.

18. The wiper blade of claim 14 wherein the secondary cover segment comprises a connecting wall that is narrowed.

19. The wiper blade of claim 17 wherein the connecting wall in the secondary cover segments tapers in order to allow the insertion of the projection into the seating recess.

20. The wiper blade of claim 14, wherein each tertiary cover segment is pivotable with respect to the secondary cover segment to which it is connected.
