Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for positioning content within an FOV of a HWC based on sensor feedback.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

a. Buffering content for triggered presentation in a field of view of a see-through head-worn display;

b. Establishing a trigger at a sight-heading of the see-through head-worn display, wherein the trigger sight-heading is represented by an angle relative to a forward facing direction for a user of the head-worn see-through display and wherein the trigger sight-heading is outside of the field of view; and

c. Presenting at least a portion of the buffered content in the field of view when an edge of the field of view intersects with the trigger sight heading.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of presenting involves presenting the buffered content in a side panel format that appears, from a user'"'"'s perspective, to appear when the user turns the user'"'"'s head to the side.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the content can be retrieved by the user by turning the user'"'"'s head past the trigger sight-heading.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the content can be removed from the field of view by turning the user'"'"'s head forward of the trigger sight-heading.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of presenting the buffered content at a position within the field of view of the head-worn see-through display involves producing image light at a front-lit reflective display.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the reflective display is a DLP with a dark light trap.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the reflective display is an LCoS.

8. The method of claim 5, wherein the head-worn see-through display includes an eye imaging system.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the user interacts with the content, when presented, with an external user interface.
