Abstract

A method of tracking and reporting data associated with a component of a system is provided. The method includes: creating a subscription that is associated with a component of a system based on subscription parameters; receiving component data associated with the component of the system; and generating reporting data based on the subscription and the component data.

Claims

1. A method of tracking and reporting data associated with a component of a system, comprising:

creating a subscription that is associated with a component of a system based on subscription parameters;

receiving component data associated with the component of the system; and

generating reporting data based on the subscription and the component data.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the subscription parameters indicate at least one of types of information associated with the component to subscribe to, a communication medium for receiving the reporting data, who to send the reporting data to, and where to send the reporting data to.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the creating the subscription is further based on a subscription rule.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving the subscription parameters based on a user interacting with a user interface.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving the component data is based on a user interacting with a user interface.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving the component data is based on a component generating the component data.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the receiving the component data is based on at least one of a smart device completing a built-in-test, a technician dispensing a part during teardown, a stage of a process flow, hours of the component in use, a time of year, a calendar event, and a personnel capacity in a servicing center associated with the component.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising communicating the reporting data based on the subscription.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving message data associated with a user of the system; and

generating message reporting data based on the subscription and the message data.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising communicating the message reporting data based on the subscription.

11. A system for tracking and reporting data associated with a component of a system, comprising:

a non-transitory computer readable medium comprising;

a subscription manager that creates a subscription associated with a component of a system based on subscription parameters;

a data manager that receives component data associated with the component of the system; and

a data reporter that generates reporting data based on the subscription and the component data.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the subscription parameters indicate at least one of types of information associated with the component to subscribe to, a communication medium for receiving the reporting data, who to send the reporting data to, and where to send the reporting data to.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the subscription manager creates the subscription further based on a subscription rule.

14. The system of claim 11, wherein the subscription manager receives the subscription parameters based on a user interacting with a user interface.

15. The system of claim 11, wherein the data manager receives the component data based on a user interacting with a user interface.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the data manager receives the component data based on a component generating the component data.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the data manager receives the component data based on at least one of a smart device completing a built-in-test, a technician dispensing a part during teardown, a stage of a process flow, hours of the component in use, a time of year, a calendar event, and a personnel capacity in a servicing center associated with the component.

18. The system of claim 11, wherein the data reporter communicates the reporting data based on the subscription.

19. The system of claim 11, further comprising:

a message manager that receives message data associated with a user of the system; and

a message reporter that generates message reporting data based on the subscription and the message data.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein the message reporter communicates the message reporting data based on the subscription.
