Abstract

Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for positioning content within an FOV of a HWC based on sensor feedback.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

a. Presenting a motion dependent digital content at a first position within a field of view of a see-through head-worn display, wherein the first position is dependent on a speed of forward motion of the head-worn display; and

b. Presenting an object dependent digital content at a second position within the field of view, wherein the second position is dependent on a sight heading of the head-worn display, wherein when the sight heading is indicative of alignment of the see-through head-worn display with an object in the environment the object dependent digital content is presented.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the speed of forward motion is greater than a pre-determined threshold indicative of a vehicle movement and the first position is proximate an edge of the field of view.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the speed of forward motion is indicative of a walking speed and the first position is proximate an edge of the field of view.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the speed of forward motion is indicative of a substantially stationary person and the first position is a neutral position.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the geo-spatial position of the head-worn display is known and used in determining the alignment of the display with the object.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein an eye heading is used in conjunction with the sight heading in determining the alignment of the display with the object.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the eye heading is determined by imaging an eye of a person wearing the head-worn display by viewing the eye at a position that is coaxial with a see through view of the eye.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the eye heading is determined by imaging eye glint.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the object dependent digital content is virtually locked to the object in the environment such that the object dependent digital content appears to remain positioned proximate the object in the environment as the see-through head-worn display moves.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the motion dependent digital content and the object dependent digital content are removed from the field of view when an alert is identified.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein at least one of the motion dependent digital content and the object dependent digital content are moved at a dampened rate when the sight heading changes at a speed greater than a preset threshold.

12. The method of claim 1, further comprising the presentation of side panel digital content, wherein the side panel digital content is displayed when the see-through head-worn sight heading is indicative of a person that is wearing the see-through head-worn turning their head to a side.

13. The method of claim 1, further comprising the presentation of side panel digital content, wherein the side panel digital content is displayed when an eye heading is indicative of a person that is wearing the see-through head-worn shifting their eye to a side.
