Abstract

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for performing device-to-device communication in a wireless communication system. The method includes generating identification information of a D2D user equipment that supports the D2D communication as identification information for D2D discovery using a hash function, the identification information for discovery includes information of a first length for indicating a division region of the beacon signals and information of a second length included in the beacon. The information of a first length and the information of a second length are smaller than identification information of the D2D user equipment. Accordingly, by performing discovery for the D2D user equipment through the identification information having shorter length than prior art, and performing discovery in a range where the discovery is available through the region in which the beacon signals are allocated, advantages of performing the D2D discovery effectively are provided.

Claims

1. A method for performing a device-to-device (D2D) communication service in a wireless communication system, comprising:

converting identification information of a user equipment that supports the D2D communication to binary codes,

generating an identifier (ID) for a discovery comprised of bits having a length shorter than the identification information of the user equipment by applying a hash function to the converted identification information of the user equipment,

configuring bits of a first length of a predetermined location among the bits of the discovery information to a beacon division region for transmitting beacon signals of the user equipment and configuring a predetermined bits of a second length to be included in the beacon signals, and

transmitting and receiving the beacon signals including the bits of the second length in the beacon division region indicated by the bits of the first length.

2. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 1, wherein configuring to the beacon division region includes:

configuring 6 bits in a variable location to information for indicating the beacon division region for transmitting beacon the beacon signals of the user equipment,

allocating 6 bits of an uppermost bit to information for indicating the beacon division region, allocating 6 bits of a lowermost bit to information for indicating the beacon division region, or allocating randomly selected 6 bits to information for indicating the beacon division region according to the hash function.

The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 1, wherein configuring to the beacon division region further includes configuring information for indicating a region for transmitting and receiving the beacon signals by applying a time partitioning, by applying a frequency partitioning, or by applying a time-frequency partitioning.

4. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 1, wherein generating the identifier (ID) for the discovery includes:

applying a first hash function corresponding to the identification information of the UE,

applying a second hash function corresponding to a service requested by the user equipment, or

applying a third hash function corresponding to the identification information and the service of the user equipment.

5. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 1 further comprising:

performing a registration to a base station by the user equipment that supports the D2D communication, and

receiving broadcast information including the hash function applied within a cell from the base station,

wherein the hash function is received via a physical broadcast channel (PBCH) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

6. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 5 further comprising generating beacon signals mapped to the identification information of the user equipment by sequentially applying the received hash function,

wherein the beacon signals include information that includes beacon division information indicating a region in which the identification information of the user equipment is included and beacon signals for the user equipment of predetermined bit.

7. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 5 further comprising receiving the broadcast information including an updated hash function by considering a number of user equipment that collides with a specific beacon signal from the base station.

8. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 7, wherein the updated hash function is generated by:

verifying the number of user equipment that collides with the specific beacon signal by the base station,

verifying whether the number of user equipment that collides exceeds a predetermined threshold value, and

updating the hash function to a hash function that has a cycle N.

9. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 7 further comprising:

acquiring a hash value mapped to the identification information of the user equipment until the cycle N by applying the updated hash function, and

generating the beacon signals for the user equipment by verifying the acquired hash value.

10. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 5, wherein performing the registration includes transmitting unique identification information of the user equipment to the base station,

wherein the unique identification information includes at least one of a mail address, a Mac address, a phone number or a D2D dedicated ID.

The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 1 further comprising verifying whether a user equipment is a counterpart user equipment for performing the D2D service or whether a user equipment is a user equipment existed within a range where the D2D service is available by checking the beacon signals.

12. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 11, wherein verifying the user equipment further includes:

transmitting a D2D link configuration request message including an ID for the verified user equipment to the base station via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), and

receiving a D2D link configuration response message including a response information for the ID of the verified user equipment from the base station via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

13. The method for performing a D2D communication of claim 11, wherein verifying the user equipment further includes:

transmitting a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) including a paging message to the verified user equipment in order to verify whether the verified user equipment exists within a cell,

receiving a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) including response information to the paging message from the verified user equipment,

transmitting a D2D link configuration request message including an ID for the verified user equipment to the verified user equipment via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), and

receiving a D2D link configuration response message including a response information for the ID of the verified user equipment from the verified user equipment via a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).

15. The apparatus for performing a D2D communication of claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to perform:

configuring 6 bits in a variable location to information for indicating the beacon division region for transmitting beacon the beacon signals of the user equipment, allocating 6 bits of an uppermost bit to information for indicating the beacon division region, allocating 6 bits of a lowermost bit to information for indicating the beacon division region, or allocating randomly selected 6 bits to information for indicating the beacon division region according to the hash function.

14. An apparatus for performing a device-to-device (D2D) communication service in a wireless communication system, comprising:

a radio frequency unit that transmits and receives radio signals; and

a processor connected with the radio frequency unit, the processor is configured to perform;

converting identification information of a user equipment that supports the D2D communication to binary codes, and generating an identifier (ID) for a discovery comprised of bits having a length shorter than the identification information of the user equipment by applying a hash function to the converted identification information of the user equipment,

wherein the processor controls by configuring bits of a first length of a predetermined location among the bits of the discovery information to a beacon division region for transmitting beacon signals of the user equipment and configuring a predetermined bits of a second length to be included in the beacon signals, and transmitting and receiving the beacon signals including the bits of the second length in the beacon division region indicated by the bits of the first length.
