Abstract

In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for generating and accessing a computer stored multi-dimensional sound profile for a plurality of seat locations within a space, the multi-dimensional sound profile comprising a plurality of multi-dimensional sound signatures, wherein each multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for a corresponding seat location of the plurality of seat locations within the space. A ticket purchase selection option may be provided to a user, wherein the ticket purchase selection option relates a seat location to a corresponding sound characteristic for the seat location based upon the accessed multi-dimensional sound profile for the plurality of seat locations within the space.

Claims

1. A computer-based method for ticket seating selection, the method comprising:

accessing a computer stored multi-dimensional sound profile for a plurality of seat locations within a space, the multi-dimensional sound profile comprising a plurality of multi-dimensional sound signatures, wherein each multi-dimensional sound signature comprises a time-based sound reflection sequence for a corresponding seat location of the plurality of seat locations within the space; and

providing to a user a ticket purchase selection option through an acoustic processing facility, wherein the ticket purchase selection option relates a seat location to a corresponding sound characteristic for the seat location based upon the accessed multi-dimensional sound profile for the plurality of seat locations within the space.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the ticket purchase selection option comprises a venue seating sound sample, and the user may purchase a ticket for a seat matching a listening preference of the user.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the sound sample is a type of sound typically performed in the space.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the sound sample is created by an artist who will be performing in the space.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the sound sample is characteristic of an upcoming performance to be held in the space.

The method of claim 1, further comprising combining a multi-dimensional sound signature of a location with at least one other multi-dimensional sound signature from another location in the space to create a multi-dimensional sound signature composite for the space, storing the multi-dimensional sound signature composite, and basing the ticket purchase selection option upon the stored multi-dimensional sound signature composite.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the time-based sound reflection sequence comprises at least two sound parameters.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the at least two sound parameters are selected from the group including amplitude, frequency, and quality of reflections of the sound.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the time-based reflection sequence comprises primary and secondary reflections from the same sound location.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the time-based reflection sequence comprises primary, secondary, and tertiary reflections from the same sound location.

11. The method of claim 1, further comprising determining a preferred multi-dimensional sound signature for an individual, determining a multi-dimensional sound signature for a selected location in the space, and making available a ticket for the selected location, the multi-dimensional sound signature for the location corresponding to the preferred multi-dimensional sound signature.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the space is at least one of a performance hall, a concert hall, a sports venue, an entertainment venue, and a movie theater.
