Abstract

Provided is a method and apparatus for allocating resources in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, the method including determining a restricted access bandwidth (RAB) interval based on at least a bandwidth or a partial bandwidth among a plurality of bandwidths, and setting a restricted access window (RAW) of a time domain based on the RAB interval.

Claims

1. A resource allocation method in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, the method comprising:

determining a restricted access bandwidth (RAB) interval based on at least a bandwidth or a partial bandwidth among a plurality of bandwidths; and

setting a restricted access window (RAW) of a time domain based on the RAB interval.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the RAB interval is used to determine a frequency domain to which a station (STA) is allowed access.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the RAW determines the time domain in which an STA is allowed access.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the setting comprises setting a priority of the RAW based on a bandwidth used by an STA, and setting the RAW for each STA in a beacon interval based on the priority set for the RAW.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

inspecting a state of a basic service set (BSS) including an access point (AP) and at least one STA

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the determining comprises determining the bandwidth or the partial bandwidth among the plurality of bandwidths based on the state of the BSS, and determining the RAB interval based on the determined bandwidth or the determined partial bandwidth.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

transmitting, to an STA, information associated with the RAB interval and information associated with the RAW.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the transmitting comprises transmitting the information associated with the RAB interval using a duplication mode frame or a synchronized (sync) frame.

9. A communication method in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system, the method comprising:

receiving information associated with a restricted access bandwidth (RAB) interval and information associated with a restricted access window (RAW);

determining whether communication is available in a frequency domain determined based on the RAB interval; and

transmitting, when communication is available in the frequency domain, data in a time domain determined based on the RAW.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the RAB interval determines the frequency domain in which a data transmission is allowed.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the RAW indicates the time domain in which a data transmission is allowed.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the receiving comprises extracting the information associated with the RAB interval from a synchronized (sync) frame or a duplication node frame received from an access point (AP).

13. The method of claim 9, wherein the frequency domain determined based on the RAB interval corresponds to one of a frequency domain less than or equal to a bandwidth set based on the RAB interval and a frequency domain greater than or equal to the bandwidth set based on the RAB interval.

14. A resource allocation apparatus, comprising:

a restricted access bandwidth (RAB) interval determiner to determine an RAB interval based on at least a bandwidth or a partial bandwidth among a plurality of bandwidths; and

a restricted access window (RAW) setting unit to set an RAW of a time domain based on the RAB interval.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the RAB interval determiner sets a mute interval periodically and identifies an available bandwidth.

16. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising:

a state inspector to inspect a state of a basic service set (BSS) including an access point (AP) and at least one station (STA).

17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the RAB interval determiner determines the bandwidth or the partial bandwidth among the plurality of bandwidths based on the state of the BSS, and determines the RAB interval based on the determined bandwidth or the determined partial bandwidth.

18. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising:

a communicator to transmit, to an STA, information associated with the RAB interval and information associated with the RAW.

19. The apparatus of claim 18, wherein the communicator stores the information associated with the RAB interval in a scrambling seed or a basic unit of signal (SIG) field in a duplication mode frame, and transmits the stored information to the STA.
