Abstract

A display apparatus with a touch detection function, includes: a plurality of common drive electrodes disposed in parallel so as to extend in one direction; a display element displaying on the basis of a pixel signal and a display drive signal; a touch detection element detecting an external approaching object on the basis of a touch-detection drive signal; and a scan drive section performing first scan driving to apply the display drive signal to the plurality of common drive electrodes sequentially by time division and second scan driving having a scan speed different from a scan speed of the first scan driving to apply the touch-detection drive signal to the plurality of common drive electrodes sequentially by time division, wherein the scan drive section drives the common drive electrodes for each plurality of the electrodes in the first and the second scan driving.

Claims

1. A display device comprising:

a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a manner of matrix having a first direction and a second direction crossing to the first direction;

a plurality of drive electrodes opposed to the pixel electrodes and extending in the first direction; and

a scan drive section configured to scan and drive the drive electrodes;

wherein

the scan drive section includes a display scan section that selects at least one pixel row to be displayed associated with the pixel electrodes along the first direction in a time divisional manner, and

the scan drive section applies a display drive signal to both the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row to be displayed associated with the pixel electrodes selected by the display scan section and at least one first adjacent drive electrode adjacent to the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row to be displayed.

2. The display device according to claim 1 further comprising a plurality of touch detection electrodes opposed to the drive electrodes and extending in the second direction,

wherein the scan drive section applies a display drive signal to both the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section and at least one second adjacent drive electrode adjacent to the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section.

3. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the first adjacent drive electrode is either before or after the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row to be displayed along the second direction.

4. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the first adjacent drive electrode includes both before and after the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row to be displayed along the second direction.

5. The display device according to claim 1, wherein the first adjacent drive electrode includes a plurality of drive electrodes before or after the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row to be displayed along the second direction.

6. The display device according to claim 2, wherein the second adjacent drive electrode is either before or after the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section along the second direction.

7. The display device according to claim 2, wherein the second adjacent drive electrode includes both before and after the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section along the second direction.

8. The display device according to claim 2, wherein the second adjacent drive electrode includes a plurality of drive electrodes before or after the drive electrodes opposed to at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section along the second direction.

The display device according to claim 1, wherein the scan drive section applies the display drive signal simultaneously to both the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row to be displayed associated with the pixel electrodes selected by the display scan section and the at least one first adjacent drive electrode adjacent to the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row to be displayed.

The display device according to claim 2, wherein the scan drive section applies the display drive signal simultaneously to both the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section and the at least one second adjacent drive electrode adjacent to the drive electrodes opposed to the at least one pixel row not selected by the display scan section.
