13. A method for producing a switchable composite pane arrangement, compromising:

sheathing an SPD film in its outer edge region by an edge sealing, containing a polyimide (PI), thus obtaining a film, arranging the film between a first thermoplastic polymer film and a second thermoplastic polymer film to form an intermediate layer, wherein the first thermoplastic polymer film and the second thermoplastic polymer film have an outer edge protrusion greater by at least 2 mm than the functional film, and laminating the intermediate layer and the film between a first pane and a second pane.

14. A method for producing a switchable composite pane arrangement, comprising:

arranging an SPD film between a first thermoplastic polymer film and a second thermoplastic polymer film to form an intermediate layer, laminating the intermediate layer between a first pane and a second pane, milling or scratching a notch at least 1 mm deep in the region of the SPD film, and filling the notch with polyisobutylene (PIB) and then polyurethane (PU).
