Abstract

The present disclosure provides a method of providing a gift icon using a communication network. The method includes: providing an item list of amounts of money to a user terminal connected with the gift provision apparatus through the communication network; selecting at least one of the amounts of money, and inputting information of a receipt terminal to receive the at least one selected amount of money, wherein the receipt terminal is separated from the user terminal; transmitting a request message for a gift to the gift provision apparatus; and providing the gift icon to the receipt terminal through the communication network, when the gift provision apparatus receives the request message.

Claims

1. A method of providing a gift icon using a communication network, the method comprising:

providing, by a gift provision apparatus, an item list of amounts of money to a user terminal connected with the gift provision apparatus through the communication network;

selecting, by the user terminal, at least one of the amounts of money, and inputting, by the user terminal, information of a receipt terminal to receive the at least one selected amount of money, wherein the receipt terminal is separated from the user terminal;

transmitting, by the user terminal, a request message for a gift to the gift provision apparatus; and

providing, by the gift provision apparatus, the gift icon to the receipt terminal through the communication network, when the gift provision apparatus receives the request message,

wherein the gift icon corresponds to the at least one selected amount of money, and is required to take products at a predetermined shop.

2. The method as set forth in claim 1, wherein the gift icon corresponding to the at least one selected amount of money is rechargeable at the gift provision apparatus or the predetermined shop.

3. The method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said selecting comprises:

reading, by the user terminal, an address book including at least one of an e-mail address or a telephone number of the receipt terminal; and

selecting, by the user terminal, the information of the receipt terminal from the address book.

4. The method as set forth in claim 3, wherein the user terminal and the receipt terminal are wired terminals or mobile terminals.

5. The method as set forth in claim 1, wherein each of the user terminal and the receipt terminal operates a software for transmitting and receiving messages or data in real time through the communication network, and transmits and receives the gift icon through the software.

6. The method as set forth in claim 5, wherein said providing the gift icon comprises:

when the gift icon is transmitted to the receipt terminal, transmitting an inquiry message for a storage location of the gift icon to the receipt terminal; and

when a transmission request message for the gift icon is transmitted from the receipt terminal to a predetermined mobile terminal, transmitting the gift icon to the predetermined mobile terminal.

7. The method as set forth in claim 6, wherein said transmitting the gift icon to the predetermined mobile terminal comprises:

transmitting a unique resource locator (URL) message including a URL in which the gift icon is stored, to the predetermined mobile terminal.

8. The method as set forth in claim 7, wherein said transmitting the gift icon to the predetermined mobile terminal further comprises:

when the predetermined mobile terminal connects to the URL and requests download of the gift icon, downloading the gift icon to the predetermined mobile terminal.

9. The method as set forth in claim 1, further comprising:

when the receipt terminal accepts the gift icon, registering, by the gift provision apparatus, an acceptance completion message.

10. The method as set forth in claim 1, wherein said providing the gift icon comprises:

providing a web page or a wap page, for a settlement, to the user terminal when the gift provision apparatus receives the request message for the gift, and

providing the gift icon when the settlement has been finished by the provided page.

11. The method as set forth in claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, by the gift provision apparatus, a reception request message for the gift, and delivering, by the gift provision apparatus, the reception request message to the receipt terminal;

when an acceptance message is received from the receipt terminal, providing, by the gift provision apparatus, a web page or a wap page for a settlement, to the receipt terminal; and

when the settlement has been finished by the provided page, providing, by the gift provision apparatus, the gift icon to the user terminal.

12. The method as set forth in claim 5, further comprising:

displaying a button for returning on a screen of the receipt terminal which have received the gift icon; and

when the button for returning is selected, providing, by the gift provision apparatus, the item list of amounts of money to the receipt terminal, and,

when at least one item included in the item list is selected, transmitting, by the gift provision apparatus, the gift icon corresponding to at least one amount of money, corresponding to the at least one selected item, to a counterpart terminal of the receipt terminal.

13. The method as set forth in claim 1, wherein the gift icon comprises a bar-code corresponding to the gift icon.

14. The method as set forth in claim 13, further comprising:

authenticating, by the gift provision apparatus, a validity of the bar-code transmitted from a Point Of Sale (POS) terminal installed in a predetermined shop;

transmitting, by the gift provision apparatus, an authentication code corresponding to a completion of the authentication of the validity, to the POS terminal; and

when the gift icon comprising the bar-code has been used, transmitting, by the POS terminal, a message indicating acceptance completion of the gift icon, to the gift provision apparatus.
