Abstract

An apparatus includes a simulated medicament delivery device and an electronic circuit system coupled to the simulated medicament delivery device. The electronic circuit system is configured to output an electronic output associated with a use of the simulated medicament delivery device.

Claims

1. An apparatus, comprising:

a simulated medicament delivery device having a housing, a removable member and a simulated actuator member; and

an electronic circuit system coupled to the simulated medicament delivery device, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a plurality of electronic outputs, the electronic circuit system including a switch operably coupled to the removable member such that the removable member actuates the switch in response to the removable member being removed from the housing, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a first electronic output from the plurality of electronic outputs in response to the switch being actuated, the electronic circuit system configured to output a second electronic output from the plurality of electronic outputs in response to the simulated actuator member being manipulated, at least one of the first electronic output or the second electronic output including at least one of a visual output, an audible output or a tactile output that simulates the actuation of an actual medicament delivery device.

2. An apparatus, comprising:

a container defining an internal region configured to contain at least a portion of a medicament delivery device, the container including a movable member configured to be movably coupled to the container, the movable member configured to limit movement of the medicament delivery device; and

an electronic circuit system coupled to the container, the electronic circuit system including an electronic visual display and a speaker, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a first output when the movable member is moved, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a second output via at least one of the electronic visual display or the speaker, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a third output, the third output being transmitted wirelessly.

3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the medicament delivery device is an autoinjector containing epinephrine.

4. An apparatus, comprising:

an outer housing associated with a medical injector;

an inner housing disposed within the outer housing;

an energy storage member configured to produce a force;

a movable member having a first end portion and a second end portion, the first end portion configured to receive the force produced by the energy storage member to move the second end portion of the movable member within the inner housing;

an electronic circuit system including a switch and an audible output device, the switch configured to actuate the electronic circuit system when moved from a first state to a second state, the audible output device coupled to the outer housing, the electronic circuit system configured to produce a recorded speech output via the audible output device when the electronic circuit system is actuated; and

an actuator coupled to the outer housing, the actuator including a protrusion configured to move the switch from the first state to the second state.

5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the inner housing contains a medicament.
