HYBRID VECHICLE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING HYBRID VEHICLE
First Claim
1. A hybrid vehicle comprising:
- an internal combustion engine;
a power storage device that is chargeable/dischargeable;
a rotating electric machine configured to receive electric power from the power storage device and generates travel driving force; and
a control device for selecting one of a CD (Charge Depleting) mode and a CS (Charge Sustaining) mode to cause the hybrid vehicle to travel, in the CD mode an SOC of the power storage device being consumed, in the CS mode the SOC being maintained within a prescribed range,the CS mode including a first CS mode and a second CS mode, the first CS mode being selected when the SOC decreases to a prescribed amount, the second CS mode being selected based on an intention of a user, anda second prescribed range corresponding to the second CS mode being set to be wider than a first prescribed range corresponding to the first CS mode.

Abstract
A hybrid vehicle according to the present invention includes an engine, a power storage device, a motor generator, and an ECU. The motor generator receives electric power from the power storage device and generates travel driving force. The ECU selects one of a CD mode and a CS mode to cause the vehicle to travel, in the CD mode an SOC of the power storage device being consumed, in the CS mode the SOC being maintained within a prescribed range. The CS mode includes a first CS mode and a second CS mode, the first CS mode being selected when the SOC decreases to a prescribed amount, the second CS mode being selected based on a user'"'"'s intention. A second prescribed range corresponding to the second CS mode is set to be wider than a first prescribed range corresponding to the first CS mode.

7. A method of controlling a hybrid vehicle including an internal combustion engine and a rotating electric machine that operates using electric power from a power storage device, the method comprising the step of:
-
selecting one of a CD mode and a CS mode to cause the hybrid vehicle to travel, in the CD mode an SOC of the power storage device being consumed, in the CS mode the SOC being maintained within a prescribed range, the CS mode including a first CS mode and a second CS mode, the first CS mode being selected when the SOC decreases to a prescribed amount, the second CS mode being selected based on an intention of a user, the method further comprising the step of; setting a second prescribed range corresponding to the second CS mode to be wider than a first prescribed range corresponding to the first CS mode.
