Abstract

A method for selecting a social media network user. The method comprises obtaining one or more parameters indicative of quality of social media network content from the social media network user, ranking the social media network user based on the one or more parameters, and determining whether the social media network user is selected based on the ranking.

Claims

1. A method for selecting a social media network user, the method implemented on a machine having at least one processor, storage, and a communication interface connected to a network, the method comprising:

obtaining one or more parameters indicative of quality of social media network content, wherein the social media network content is associated with a social media network user;

ranking the social media network user based on the one or more parameters; and

determining whether to select the social media network user based on the ranking.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more parameters include features related to at least one of:

the social media network user;

social network connections of the social media network user; and

the social media network content associated with the social media network user.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the social media network user is ranked based on the one or more parameters using a first model.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the ranked social media network user is assigned into one of a plurality of levels based, at least in part, on the one or more parameters using a second model.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the social media network user is assigned into one of the plurality of levels based, at least in part, on social status of the social media network user.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein

the social media network user is selected as a curator or a voter based on the ranking;

and

at least some of the social media network content from a curator is added to a content pool based on popularity of the social media network content among a plurality of voters.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

extracting features from the social media network content associated with the social media network user.

10. A system having at least one processor, storage, and a communication interface connected to a network for selecting a social media network user, the system comprising:

a modeler configured to obtain one or more parameters indicative of quality of social media network content, wherein the social media network content is associated with a social media network user and rank the social media network user based on the one or more parameters; and

a user selector configured to determine whether to select the social media network user based on the ranking.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein the one or more parameters include features related to at least one of:

the social media network user;

social network connections of the social media network user; and

the social media network content associated with the social media network user.

12. The system of claim 10, wherein the social media network user is ranked based on the one or more parameters using a first model.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the ranked social media network user is assigned into one of a plurality of levels based, at least in part, on the one or more parameters using a second model.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the social media network user is assigned into one of the plurality of levels based, at least in part, on social status of the social media network user.

15. The system of claim 10, wherein

the social media network user is selected as a curator or a voter based on the ranking thereof;

and

at least some of the social media network content from a curator is added to a content pool based on popularity of the social media network content among a plurality of voters.

16. The system of claim 10, further comprising a feature extractor configured to extract features from the social media network content associated with the social media network user.

17. A non-transitory machine readable medium having information recorded thereon for selecting a social media network user, wherein the information, when read by a machine, causes the machine to perform the steps of:

obtaining one or more parameters indicative of quality of social media network content, wherein the social media network content is associated with a social media network user;

ranking the social media network user based on the one or more parameters; and

determining whether to select the social media network user based on the ranking.

18. The medium of claim 17, wherein the one or more parameters include features related to at least one of:

the social media network user;

social network connections of the social media network user; and

the social media network content associated with the social media network user.

19. The medium of claim 17, wherein the social media network user is ranked based on the one or more parameters using a first model.

20. The medium of claim 19, wherein the ranked social media network user is assigned into one of a plurality of levels based, at least in part, on the one or more parameters using a second model.

21. The medium of claim 20, wherein the social media network user is assigned into one of the plurality of grade levels based, at least in part, on social status of the social media network user.

22. The medium of claim 17, wherein

the social media network user is selected as a curator or a voter based on the ranking;

and

at least some of the social media network content from a curator is added to a content pool based on popularity of the social media network content among a plurality of voters.
