Abstract

The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and, more specifically, to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same which are capable of automatically responding to a caller when a user cannot respond to a call or when a given condition is satisfied. The method for controlling a mobile terminal related to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: activating an automatic response function when a preset activation condition is satisfied; accepting a voice call when a call signal is received form a caller; performing an authentication procedure determining an automatic response type: and performing a function requested by the caller through at least one, corresponding to the determined response type, among voice, text and a graphic user interface, within a range corresponding to the result of the authentication procedure, while the accepted voice call is connected.

Claims

1. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, comprising the steps of:

if a preset activation condition is met, activating an automatic response function;

if there is an incoming call signal from a caller, accepting a voice call;

performing an authentication procedure;

determining an automatic response type; and

while the accepted voice call is connected, performing a function requested by the caller in a range corresponding to a result of the authentication procedure through at least one of a voice, a text and a graphic user interface to correspond to the determined automatic response type.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the function requested by the user is recognized through the voice of the caller received in the course of the accepted voice call.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising the step of if the automatic response type is determined to use the voice only, sending a text corresponding to at least one portion of the recognized voice of the caller in a message of a prescribed type to a terminal of the caller.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of if the function requested by the caller deviates from the range corresponding to the result of the authentication procedure, sending a rejection intention to the caller.

5. The method of claim 3, the rejection message sending step further comprises the step of proposing a function belonging to the range corresponding to the result of the authentication procedure to the caller.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the automatic response type determining step is performed in consideration of a terminal type of the caller.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of transmitting a signal for requesting to run a prescribed application to enable a response history to be displayed on a terminal of the caller through at least one of the text and the graphic user interface to the terminal of the caller.

The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of if the caller is determined as a user of the mobile terminal as a result from performing the authentication procedure, sending an automatic response history in the course of activating the automatic response function to a terminal of the caller.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of if an addition information for performing the function requested by the caller is requested, making a request for the addition information to an external server and then receiving the additional information.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising the step of updating a memory using the received additional information.

11. A mobile terminal comprising:

a wireless communication unit; and

a controller, if a preset activation condition is met, activating an automatic response function, the controller, if there is an incoming call signal from a caller, accepting a voice call, the controller performing an authentication procedure, the controller determining an automatic response type, the controller, while the accepted voice call is connected, controlling a function requested by the caller to be performed in a range corresponding to a result of the authentication procedure through at least one of a voice, a text and a graphic user interface to correspond to the determined automatic response type.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the function requested by the user is recognized through the voice of the caller received in the course of the accepted voice call.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 12, wherein if the automatic response type is determined to use the voice only, the controller sends a text corresponding to at least one portion of the recognized voice of the caller in a message of a prescribed type to a terminal of the caller.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein if the function requested by the caller deviates from the range corresponding to the result of the authentication procedure, the controller sends a rejection intention to the caller.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 13, wherein the controller proposes a function belonging to the range corresponding to the result of the authentication procedure to the caller.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller determines the automatic response type in consideration of a terminal type of the caller.

The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller controls the wireless communication unit to transmit a signal for requesting to run a prescribed application to enable a response history to be displayed on a terminal of the caller through at least one of the text and the graphic user interface to the terminal of the caller.

The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein if the caller is determined as a user of the mobile terminal as a result from performing the authentication procedure, the controller sends an automatic response history in the course of activating the automatic response function to a terminal of the caller.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein if an addition information for performing the function requested by the caller is requested, the controller makes a request for the addition information to an external server and then receives the additional information.

20. The mobile terminal of claim 19, further comprising a memory, wherein the controller updates the memory using the received additional information.
