1. A method of pairing devices in an in vivo analyte monitoring environment, the method comprising:
- sending, by a second reader device, a first communication comprising a token to a sensor control device that has already communicated with a first reader device, wherein the sensor control device is adapted for in vivo analyte sensing;
if the token is valid for the sensor control device, then sending, by the sensor control device, data indicative of a sensed analyte level to the second reader device; and
if the token is not valid for the sensor control device, then sending, by the sensor control device, a communication to the second reader device that indicates that the token is not valid.
