1. An apparatus comprising:
- a first interface for interfacing with an electronic medical record server using a first protocol, the first protocol is a HL7 (Health Level
7) compliant protocol;
a second interface for interfacing with a first device having a first application using a second protocol, the second protocol is different than the HL7 compliant protocol;
a database for storing HL7 compliant messages to and from the medical record server and for storing application messages to and from the first application; and
a processor for receiving the HL7 compliant messages from the electronic medical record server via the first interface, storing the HL7 compliant messages in the database, and outputting corresponding application messages to the first application via the second interface.
